Came here to say this. Thought Nemec was solid today.

He and Luke led the team in even strength time on ice by 3 minutes from the next player below them in the game so hopefully a nice confidence boost for them (partly affected by game situations but still)

Yeah this notion Luke's horrible at defense because he turns it over here and there is way overplayed. But then again the people who think Luke is horrible generally don't think anyone with offensive talent who drives play can actually play defense in the first place and only think the stay-at-home slugs play D.

I do think there's still value in stay-at-home defensemen but that's partly cause you're not going to find six guys with Luke's quickness and puck moving ability anyway.

I feel Luke's offense has been missing this season, at least relative to expectations.

While his defense has been really good. Way better then I expected this early in his career. And for most of the season he isn't the one playing the easy 5v5 seasons(haven't checked the usage numbers in the recent games after the pairings shakeup).

I saw one come out of his glove in I think it was the 1st period? I remember him being in the net on the left side of the screen and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the 3rd period, so it had to be the 1st.

It’s whatever. I don’t care. Great game by him, but I did notice that. And I’m pretty sure the rebound didn’t lead to any dangerous chance at all.
