Yes. Multiple fights. Noesen Kovacevic targeting Blues players as retribution. Blues players being clowned and punked.

Mushy pea hockey as you coined it
Oh the guys who didn't show up against Toronto, after the most important player on team was needlessly ran showed up against tonight you mean?

I suppose better late than never?

Devils were able to out slog St Louis, which was nice.

Devils have really done a 180, last year any game with structure was hard and the wide open games were easy while this year it’s the opposite.

The more important games are usually against teams also playing with structure, so this way is better.

I wouldn't say the wide open games have been hard. Actually, I wouldn't say the defense has allowed many other teams to play wide open. The are a few examples, but games like that will always happen over the course of a season.

The defensive turnaround from a structure perspective has been borderline miraculous. It's not incredible how much better the team is defensively without Lindy.

This team didn't know what a stick check was under Lindy, and now we got sticks breaking everything up every night.

Love seeing Nico there. He’s constantly locking down top lines and has a heavy burden defensively. Jack and Bratt are our main engines offensively but Nico is our overall conscience. So glad he’s got the C

He's tied for 3rd right now in defensive rating. Jack's also 93rd percentile

Man, Sam Reinhart at #2. I know Levi is young and goalies are weird (he's def an A+ AHLer), but boy would buffalo love him right now
Really hard to see Reinhart and Eichel look so good and not use that and an indictment on management in Buffalo

They moved out Cup winning core in RoR, Eichel, Reinhart. They broke RoR's spirit. Wouldn't let Eichel get his surgery. I don't remember the Reinhart reason.

Nico is a quintessential Devils forward straight out of an earlier era. He would not have looked at all out of place in the top 6 of one of the Cup winning squads.

I can think of no higher compliment for the way he plays the game.

Also simple things like just chipping the puck out of the D-zone. How often did we hear that from Dano in previous seasons?

It's legitmately night and day. They make boo boos from time to time, but the overall commitment to a sound structure is extremely noticeable and obviously the stats and results back it up
