Lazar went from out for most of the remainder of the season to probably back next month to back tonight pretty quickly.

anecdotally i’m pretty sure the devils are 0-40 in my lifetime against the blues
We actually beat them the last time we played them last year, right after Green took over for Ruff.

But it’s been heavily losses to them in the last at least 15 years.

We do have that random 3rd period eruption over them in the Jon Gillies season and a random snowstorm blowout win over them at home in like 2014. I’m pretty sure we lost w every game against them between those two meetings.

Actually, we had a THREE game win streak over the Blues between March of 2020 and beat them both times in the 21-22 season, not just the one time I remembered. And we beat them last March. I now remember the March of 2020 game as it would wind up being the last ever game for Cory Schneider as a Devil. The league shut down 4 or 5 nights later.

Those four wins though are our only wins against them since January of 2014 and including that one we’ve only beaten them five times in 24 games since 2008.

So since 2010 we are 6-16-3 I think?

And somehow through all of that we actually had a 3 game winning streak in there not too long ago and 5 of those 6 wins have come this decade.

I feel like we never win in St Louis so its about time we turn the tide there!

Can someone dig up the last ten matchups there?
Dammit, I just had it up and exited out of the page!

Since December 30th of 2008 we’re 2-9-1 in St. Louis if I counted that right? I may be off by a digit on the regulation loss column, but 2 wins is definitely right.

First win was December 30th of 2008 and the other was February 10th of 2022.

And the neither of the goalies in net for those two wins are named Brodeur, Schneider or even Blackwood.

Scott Clemmensen and Jon Gillies lol.

That would actually be a great trivia question on the broadcast and an absolute stumper if you didn’t read my post. And there’s a former Blues goaltender, just not the former Blues goaltender you think.

2 wins in St. Louis since 2008, name the goaltenders who got the wins.

Most people would wanna answer Brodeur for at least one, because Marty was here still for quite a few more years after 2008 and people might be like “there’s a Blues tie in here!” And there actually IS a Blues tie in, but it’s not Brodeur.

It’s Jon Gillies, who played ONE game for the Blues the same year we traded for him!
