I'm pretty sure it just looks worse tonight because the decrepit #29 is in goal and this is what he does.

This is the natural progression of a BAD goaltender.

He's not bad EVERY game, nobody is. Just like no goalie is GOOD every game. Look at the lousy softy Vitek allowed last game, which was softer than most of the Blackwood goals against this year, other than maybe that gift against Carolina.

People are freaking out about how Hughes is the Devils tonight, but Vanecek has been our second best player since the turn of the calendar year and we're also missing him tonight.

Can we finally just come to terms with the fact that this is a little more than unlucky at this point with Haula? His lack of goals are due to eroding skill more than luck.

I mean, he's been unlucky to not have a couple more goals, but he just isn't good enough to score at his career rate.

It’s just bad bounces. Haula’s going to turn this around. He just needs ~100 shots to warm up.
