I think Jack going down has forced a lot of players to be more aggressive and go for it. The whole 'it's alright, Jack will save us' mentality is gone and now the guys have to take matters into their own hands.

it changes the look of our offense for sure. And perhaps we are less predictable. Maybe there is a silver lining for next year's offense - how to throw out different looks.

On moneypuck Jake Allen is third in the league in overall GSAx behind Hellebuyck and Thompson, and 6th in GSAx per 60 among goalies that have played at least 1 game. He’d be third of out of goalies that have played at least 5 games and first out of goalies who have played more than 8 games.

Nico Daws is first in GSAx per 60 of goalies who have played at least 5 games. Funny that Akira Schmid is third on this list for goalies who have played at least 1 game. Which is all he’s played and it was only a relief appearance.

This is probably one of the best years Allen has had in the NHL.

It's a good company to be in.

I remember Allen's 2017 playoffs, where he single handedly destroyed the Wild with some 97-98% goaltending. The wild had the insane ~16 game win streak mid season and were on fire until Allen showed his goat level goaltending. The man has qualities that can steal playoff games.

Small sample size for glass so far but if he stays consistent and comes back next year you can relistically have line pairings of 1-3 with

Jack-aquired winger
Hischier-timo
Glass-Bratt-acquired center

Which would balance out the top 9 pretty well I think

Hopefully Gritsyuk will have one of those spots and perhaps we can get a significant winger by dealing Nemec/Casey. Maybe a Palat buyout.

Meier Jack Noesen
Gritsyuk Nico FA/Trade
Cotter Mercer Bratt
Haula Glass Foote

I honestly haven't minded Tatar one bit this year.

He's been stapled to the 4th line, so he's not really gonna score down there. I'm pretty sure his points per 60 numbers aren't that bad given the little icetime he recieves.

Only bummer is Haula still in the lineup.

But you DID say a Palat buyout. If we had to keep Haula but found a way out of Palat I'd probably be fine with that. I think Palat is in 2025 the better player of the two, but he's also about (just under) twice as expensive as Haula is.
