Why bring a coach back on a short leash? If a coach is on short leash the GM clearly doesn’t have that much belief in him anymore. Wouldn’t you want to come into a new season with a fresh coach that you really believe in.

Like I said, I think it's almost a guarantee that if he does get brought back for one more year that he'll be fired in-season. Unless the (hopeful) new goalie upgrade really wills us to a much better season.

It's gotta be playoffs or bust next year if Ruff does come back. I'm gonna say a playoff miss of any kind guarantees Ruff ain't coming back for 2023-2024.

But I'm getting way ahead of myself here, because I really don't see him back next year, but stranger things have also happened.

It was a 1 in 1000 play. Pure luck. D-men have their stick in that position unconsciously multiple times a game.

Stick checking and stick awareness is a coachable skill you need to instill in your team. Its kind of amazing how far his excuse making will go that he forgets this.

It’s a shame Smith has just lost his mojo and is generally predictable in both the attacking and defensive zone. He needs a big reset over the summer
