Had a blast in Boston last night despite the score. The boys left it all out there. Just comes down to a lack of finish, same old story. Have to tip your cap to rask as well...

The fans were really nice. And any arena that has Sam Adams on draft is great in my book. My seats were 12 rows off the ice so it was a great view. Will definitely go back next time...

Sunday night game on the road against a weak opponent, Devils don't usually play BAD teams that hard. Even if Pominville is gone now. I'd watch Wrestlemania, tomorrow nights game against Toronto pending!

Not to mention it's on NBC Sports with probably some different announce crew. Probably not Doc, Barfo, and P-no-hair.

That Jagr goal REALLY pissed me off. No team deserves to lose on a goal like that let alone a team that outplayed the opponent for most of the game like we did. That had to be the least deserving win the Bruins have had all year. They barely showed up. That game was like a carbon copy of every Devils/Rangers from like 2007 to last year when we would dominate them and Lundqvist would stop every damn thing and then Callahan or someone would come down and score some garbage ass goal on us and we'd lose. Games like piss me the hell off. It always seems like were the ones to take part in them more than other team. These type of games have happening since lockout (the 2nd one)

playing the leafs sucks because no matter what they always give the devils problems. always.

Marty doesn't exactly have the greatest record against them either in recent years. I think they might even be the team in the conference that he has the closest record to 500 against. Just a few more wins than losses. Aside from the Canucks who are the only team he's got a losing record against, and they aren't in the same conference.

His two worst games last year were against the Maple Leafs. The one where he came back from injury and was really rusty before making the absolutely unbelievable save on Kessel. And then that game where Reimer was horrible in the shootout, but Marty was even worse and let everything get past him. I'm pretty sure he wasn't that good in regulation either.

I remember a lot of crap games against the Leafs since the last lockout. There was another game where he gave up 3 shootout goals in a row too against them in 07 in the old building. Think it was the game Janssen crushed Kaberle. Also we lost 6-5 in a shootout the game before he got injured in 08. Then there was that game he gave up 4 or 5 goals in one period against them early in 06-07, but Old Gio tied it up with a few seconds left, and we won in a shootout 7-6.
The Devils are going to crush the Leafs, I think. Tomorrow has breakout game written all over it.
Hope so. Make that big eared dumbo Reimer pay. The original Gio knows a thing or two about that.

I think if we had Kovy we at least get a goal in last nights game. Not only is he our best goal scorer, but he's our best playmaker too. He could have potted one himself, or set one up real nice for somebody else. I think with Kovy we also win against both corpses in Florida. He's always out killing a 6 on 5, and that hasn't happened with him in the lineup this season, nor last years playoffs, or too many times last season.

I think that's another area we miss him.

I don't get that feeling at all. I think Kadri and Kessel are going to give our slow skating defense corps fits. Thankfully Reimer is shaky but we have to generate decent chances for that to matter.

Well Lupul isn't playing so that helps. There offense always seems to give us problems though even when they were awful the last few years. Kadri, JVR, Kessel, Bozak, Kulemin, and MaCarthur are no joke so its not gonna be easy. Reimer is ass so hopefull we pot some but knowing the way this team has been operating recently he'll play his best game of the year. We always seem to make backups n bad goalies look like Vezina candidates except for Garon last week and we still lost
But yea, **** it. I think we win tomorrow. Sunday is what I'm worried about

Reimer somehow is playing above average this year, but I still believe he's somewhere out of the top 30 goalies in the league. Remember though he wears HUGE equipment, and the Devils have their problems with these goalies. He's not the size of a monster like Bishop, or Markstrom, but he wears ridiculous equipment. This team struggles against those kinds of goalies unless their name is Jonas Gustavsson. Think of the Isles shutout last year, the almost shutout a week later, the Giguere shutout, etc. Too bad Gustavsson no longer plays for the Leafs.

The only thing I can think of is our goalies are who they shoot on in practice. Both are not big, and wear some small equipment. Every once in a while coach Terreri will suit up, and he's an exceptionally small guy. I'd have to dig up huge goalies save percentages against us in the last two seasons. It's probably frightening like a 970 or something.

Oh god that game was horrendous. I think his name was Anders Nilson or something. I dont even know if he's still in their system anymore or what but that game was par for the course as far as backups against us go. Clemmenson had like a 4 or 5 game win streak against us until 2 weeks ago. The whole thing is pretty weird. Even when we had much better offenses than this team does with Parise and company it still happened.

Haha we're gonna get along great! Nilsson yeah, our AHL team beat him 3-1 or maybe even 3-0 earlier this year. 3 goals on like 24 shots or something too. He's still in Bridgeport, but I think he's injured. Trash can Rick has been getting most of the starts there last I saw.

Yes Clemmensen **** that guy man. Another big equipment goalie. He's got the worst save percentage in the league this year, and we couldn't get more than two past him last time. However the Clarkson goal shouldn't have happened, but because Clemmensen is now a beer league goalie it did.

I just compiled our shooting percentage against big goalies for this season and last. Didn't get the wins to losses, but just counted shots and goals. I used our stats against Gustavsson, Markstrom, Nilsson, Giguere, Bishop, Clemmensen, and Reimer. Those goalies combined have a 936 save percentage against us. That's including a couple beatings we put on Gustavsson too, and one game we scored 3 on Markstrom.

I didn't use Lundqvist because big equipment or not he's actually a good proven goalie. Same with Rinne who gave us problems early in a game last year.

I like Kovalchuk a lot but I know there's a lot of issues in his game and some of them are really concerning. To me Elias is a better player overall. Though, there's no doubt in my mind that even when he's not scoring, Kovalchuk still makes this team better, especially offensively.
Is it what we call intangibles ? yeah no but when with Ilya the opposition is trying to shut him down, especially using good pairings and decent shutdown forwards against him.

No one says it better than the fans of other teams around here: "I'm sh*tt*ing my pants everytime Kovalchuk's touching the puck." And since Ilya's out there around 25 minutes per game, he may give more room to the likes of Henrique, Elias and Co. Playing a motivated Kovalchuk is physically and mentally, I think, an exhausting task... Let alone BMK (Beast Mode Kovy)
Finally, this guy is also a F***ING great leader. Proven a millon times he will never let anyone **** with one of his teammate.

Miss ya Ilya.

Yup .936 seems about right. Does Buffalo play tomorrow? If so I can see them starting Enroth Sunday and it probably wont end well. He was five minutes away from a shutout last time before we finally got our crap together.
