Let's just ignore Zacha gifting a high slot pass to the Islanders because he scored I guess. Had a good game after that embarrassing turnover though. Funny how if Severson messes up everyone will relentlessly kill him for it but Zacha can do it over and over and over again every game and not a peep.
There are plenty of anti Zacha peepers.

The so called anti Zacha people I could actually name but I won't because they aren't lol. There are like 5 posters who aren't entirely sold on him and see a flawed player having a breakout year. They also wouldn't have a problem trading him IF it improved our roster. But people seem to think wanting to improve the roster means shitting on him.

I guess I'm one of the 5, but why would I shit on him? I just don't trust him :)

As for trading him, I'm all for any trade that makes us significantly better no matter who it is.

nobody is anti-Zacha lol. There isn't someone out here doing what AK does IRT Bratt or Jim does with Jack. There are Zacha realists. He's shown some promising things this year as a goal scorer but he's also shown the exact same flaws he always has as well. So which side is wrong here?

Go back to your hate filled corner bud!

Pretty sure all us Zacha "detractors", since that seems to be the buzz word to make people sound like they are right, would agree we 100% keep him if there isn't a definitive upgrade to be made at a fair cost.

I think everyone would agree we keep him if the upgrade isn't substantial. Not a soul out here saying to trade him for picks or anything of the like.

I wasn't watching the board during the game. Was there no response on Zacha's pass, but a big response on Sev's goof and subsequent penalty?

Not sure if you missed it, but there was about ten pages of "peeps" less than 12 hours ago.....

I’ve always tried even handed with Zacha, I’ve just discussed him more a lot because I thought he was very problematic at center. I’m always slightly annoyed that people ignore defensive play with forwards. (Which was and is my main issue with Zacha, though that is tied to possession.)

I will say that I also find it annoying when posters give one-sided bad faith arguments in order to support particular forwards.

One, shall we say contrarian poster, loooved Zacha’s 24 assists last season and was quick to point out that he had the same amount of points as Bratt. Bratt scoring 16 goals, w/ 14 5v5 goals , but didn’t mean anything more than Zacha’s 8 goals, w/ 3 5v5 goals. Points are points.

Then cut to this season and that same poster now found goal scoring a whole lot sexier and no longer cared about assists. Suddenly they lost interest in points, and focused on who was scoring goals.

That’s what you do if see this as Internet Debate Club and you only mention information that you narrowly cast as part of strictly pro- or anti - player arguments. That weird approach to me because it’s pretty easy to see through. Why not be honest about players. Right or wrong, I do try address a player’s strengths even when I’m criticizing them.

And main issue with trading away Zacha or Wood is that I would like to increase scoring and not have to replace their’s. I’m over Palmieri too I’m am not sure that the mythical improvement trades involving these players are out there but who knows.

There were some known Zacha pumpers yes doing just that. I don't have any issue with people calling everyone out ofc.

Devils blocked over 20 shots so I went with two D - Murray and Bahl - along with Blackwood for the three stars.

Thought McLeod and Hischier were also very deserving.

And to counter the question of what would have happened had Nico and Bratt been here from the start, what if Sami never replaced Matt Tennyson in the lineup?

if Nico and Bratter were here from day 1...

Devils started the year 5-2-1. Hard to imagine it would have been much better.

If they get credit for last night's win, how much of the accountability do they get for the 10-game skid? (Though in Nico's defense he may have still been out).

Solid win for the Devils. Mack, Zacha, McLeod, in that order.

Another good performance from Bahl. He's very good along the wall and he skates surprisingly well for his height/age. He's a keeper. (Compare him to Mueller - Bahl is much better and will only improve).
