It's freaking obvious. Their second unit has actually been decent. No reason ours shouldn't be but you have a guy at the blueline who can not cover laterally much of it. Even if people don't feel KAM is an ideal pp2 point guy he could at least get back to retrieve puck and skate it up ice quicker.

How often do D-men play off-hand to their positions? Not many, right? A left-handed KAM on the right side would be deadly.
For some reason I'd also like to see what he'd look like playing as a F with no defensive responsibilities.

There's a scenario where the Rangers could win game 7. Ruff might just hand it to us.
You know I hate the muh desire narrative but mentality and especially game-planning are real things. The Devils were not prepared for the first two games and game 7 is another level up in intensity and pressure.
They're really over-focused on hitting because it's the playoffs and they feel they have to. Based on then reporting in national games, they're still really focused on physicality and hitting us more, even after succeeding in less physical games in the middle of the series.
It's dumb. They literally have to slow down to hit us and make themselves worse. They threw away the first two games going of their way to hit and game 6 turned around when they started taking "look how nasty I am" penalties. Trouba did it the right way and waited until we were up by four goals to start acting like a neanderthal, which is fine.
If they focus on Devils hockey, we're gonna have an uphill battle. If they come out with idea of "well it's game 7, gotta really up the things and stuff and show how grit we are," we're gonna blow them away again.

Game to game, I don’t really give him props when things go well nor do I fault him when things go poorly. My feeling is the GM gets the players and the players play. For sure the coach has one foot in each of those scenarios. And there are things the coach can do to make things better, or worse. But basically, day to day I’ll give the players the credit or the blame. And I’d zoom out to evaluate the coach and then the GM.

He was traded off of a very good rangers team, so he probably feels rejected by the rangers. It’s nearly 30 years ago so I think he should have gotten over it by now. But I guess that’s why he - and Olczyk, similarly - tend to enjoy sticking it to the rangers.
Btw I wish the rangers had kept Ferraro. That was a dumb trade.

I don't dislike Emily per se, I just don't think she adds much to the broadcast. @2014nyr makes a very good point about how hard she tries & she's actively working to improve her craft. I appreciate that as well, but the broadcast as a whole is very bush league.

TNT is so much better than ESPN. Watching Florida/Boston right now and Burke/Pang are better than any ESPN crew.

If Burke wanted to call the final, he'd sign with ESPN next season.
Bob Wischusen is their best announcer, it's not even close. I wasn't sure about him doing hockey at first, but he really is fantastic at it.
Ferraro is solid. I've heard Dom Moore as commentary and he's pretty good. Boucher is strong too.
If ESPN just hired Gord Miller, we'd be set. He probably doesn't want to travel to the states any more than he does.

Why can’t Jackie Redmond do rangers games and not Emily.
- We have a clear advantage in goal. To break their goalie is the fastest way to the next round. Hopefully they have the shit games 3,4,5 out of the system now and know how to get to their goalie.
- the refs are a wildcard. Let's face it it was nice to have them tilt the ice a bit for us in game 6 (4 PPs in a row) - maybe the "NHL wants 7 games" thing worked in our favor last game...
- some puckluck would be nice.

It’s interference. He isn’t trying to make a play to get him off the puck even if it’s close by.
Again at that point in the game? I give zero f***s. If it were a 1-2 goal game? It’s a dumb penalty.

With Boston and Tampa out of the way, the road to the Cup suddenly looks wide open…
I mean, I wouldn't overlook Toronto as much as people have laughed at them for flaming out. They still have goalie issues but they can outscore that if you're not careful.
Florida I'm still meh on but clearly they have it in them to beat you if you can't take care of business. There are no easy games or teams left, including a depleted Carolina.
And that's hoping the Rangers can pull out game 7 to begin with...definitely not looking past the Devils since obviously this series is a tough one as we expected.
No reason the Rangers can't win this but they're gonna have to really push hard at getting pucks and bodies to the net and rattle whoever's in net (it'll be Schmid) and they need Shesterkin to pull another one out
