I can't say I've watched every team's intermission report, but I watch a lot of games around the league when the Rangers aren't playing and no one comes close IMO to the MSG crew. They're really good at providing interesting analysis (mostly from Valiquette) plus some humor as well that doesn't seem forced (unlike what TBS does with Biz & Co. which seems forced and thus not funny at all).
Valiquette is definitely the star. Guy knows his shit, talks better than anyone, and like you said he injects some humor in there that isnt forced and cringy like Biz.

Today he brought up how Vanecek created his own screen on the Tarasenko goal. I don't think any other broadcast would make that type of observation. That's not even mentioning his stats.

That was great analysis and then Hank followed it up by touching on Vanacek’s positioning on the play and needing to keep his body straight and high because when you crouch too far down like he did to try and beat the screen you leave the whole top of the net open. Great stuff from them.

Finally caught highlights.

Devils are cheating sooooo hard to take the cross ice pass away from the Rangers on the PP. The difference in the first 2 games vs the regular season is that the tips by Kreider are going in. Clear as day that they underestimated the possibility that his shooting luck on the PP would flip. Through 2 games, he has half of his regular season PP goal total.

Kreider had an uneven AF regular season. With that taken into consideration, voodoo is the only thing that kept him from being a 45 goal scorer this year. There aren't many guys who can do that while being pretty meh other wise for 30% of the season.

Give the coaching staff credit, they were well aware that NJ would game plan to make Zibanejad as much of a non factor as possible on the PP as possible. They haven't been forcing it to him and lo and behold, they're 4/10 through 2 games.

The second the Devils attempt to adjust and pay attention to Kreider, its gonna be piss rocket city either via Zib or Panarin (should he choose to shoot.)

I genuinely cannot thing of a single negative thing after this game. Everyone is stepping up and this was a massacre.
Best moment was the second after going up a goal, we had to kill a penalty. We killed it and then scored. That's playoff hockey. Dig down when it matters and get the win.
The Devils have been exposed. They look like regular season darlings. I'd be shocked if they turn it around, but hey, there's always a chance.
One other thing is Kaner. Man he was explosive during this game. Not passing to Kreider and actually scoring is what winners do. He is feeling that passion and I am so excited to see him play more.
And Kreider. Sheesh. Just straight murder on the pp so far.

Hopefully these guys remember the TBL series last season and stick to the game plan for the rest of this one.

With that said, Debbies can get f***ed, little bitches. LFGR.

This is a much better team than last year's. Tampa deserved to win. We deserve to win now.

Based on these two games, and now heading home, the question we all must be thinking is,...... do the Devils win a game this series. We were 8-2 at home in last years playoffs. And one of those losses went to triple OT.

How great would it be to have an easy round of only 4 games. To rest and heal those bumps and bruises.

I wouldn't want more games obviously but it would really cool our momentum. I know it's a bit of a tired take but it didn't help the Lightning last year in games 1 and 2. While we arguably ran out of fuel against them those first two games nearly sank them.

I thought about that, but bottom line, Tampa beat us in six games. So it is hard to make a case the break didn't favor them.

I think the biggest benefit would be in keeping Shesty sharp. Keep his workload to a minimum.

Fewer games means fewer injuries and time to heal the bruises. Better to be rusty for R2 G1 than to have guys play tired or with injuries. Let's wrap this up in the Garden and come back for R2 healthy and rested. For the players, it will feel like a 3 round Spring instead of 4 if you sweep R1.

The clinic continues. This game was even better than the first game and I thought the first game was incredibly good! I’m beyond excited about this teams potential. The devils never looked like they were going to score and the only goal that went it was a muck like triple bounce type play.

I don’t want to jinx it but- this team is playing special hockey!
