Awesome game. Made me kinda sad that dougie got booed though. Mostly I just want to be wearing these jerseys every game
of BojanglesBring him, but leave him in the parking lot.
Lucky?IMO we are STILL getting lucky and that's fine. Devils are in a slump. Pens are a better team. The real test would be Boston, Toronto, etc.
2:30am hit you hard last night, huh?Dougie went down to Raleigh, he was lookin' for a game to steal
He was in a bind 'cause he was fallin' behind
And he was willin' to make a deal
When he came across this young goalie holding the crease and playin' it hot
And Dougie jumped up on an oak stump
And said, "boy, let me tell you what"
"I guess you didn't know it but I'm a stickpuck player too
And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you
Now you play a pretty good stickpuck, boy
But give Dougie his due
I'll bet a stick of gold against your soul
'Cause I think I'm better than you"
The boy said, "my name's Koochie and it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret
'Cause I'm the best there's ever been"
Koochie, hold down your crease and hold that line hard
'Cause Hell's broke loose in Raleigh, and Dougie shoots the pucks
And if you win, you get this shiny stick made of gold
But if you lose, Dougie gets your soul
Dougie lined up a shot and he said, "I'll score this goal"
And fire flew from his fingertips as he fired it off low
And he shot the puck through the crease
And it made a evil hiss
Then a band of Devils joined in
And it sounded something like this
When Dougie finished, Koochie said, "well, you're pretty good, ol' son
But sit down on that bench right there
And let me show you how it's done"
"Fire on the Mountain" run boys, run
Dougies in the House of the Canes Nation
Stormy in a bread pan pickin' out dough
Koko, does your dog bite? No, child, no
Dougie bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden stick on the ground at Koochie's feet
Koochie said, "Dougie, just come on back if you ever wanna try again
I done told you once you son of a bitch, I'm the best that's ever been"
He played "Fire on the Mountain" run boys, run
Dougies in the House of the Canes Nation
Stormy in a bread pan pickin' out dough
Koko, will your dog bite? No child, no
They will be a problem, but we are THE problem.Devils are gonna be a problem the next several years. I was impressed.
Booing Haula I'm not going to complain but don't boo DougieAwesome game. Made me kinda sad that dougie got booed though. Mostly I just want to be wearing these jerseys every game
Yeah I don't get the booing Hamilton. At least he didn't leave a bitter shit talking malcontentBooing Haula I'm not going to complain but don't boo Dougie
Don’t judge me2:30am hit you hard last night, huh?
Point percent doesn't win playoffs tho.Lucky?
Dont we lead in point % for like the last 3 or 4 years? Its not luck.
We played Boston really well on the road an OT loss and the Toronto game was an early season bad game by Freddy.
Ok I wont.Don’t judge me
Yes they were fast, yes they controlled the puck. No most of their shots were not really that dangerous. They played the game most of us around here complain about the Canes playing. Thats not out playing your opponent, thats out skating them, nothing more.
Guess I'll continue to be unreasonable on this one. I was rarely worried about what they were generating and it wasn't because of insane saves. They are a talented team and they played fine. But I saw it as a pretty middle of the road performance for both teams, setting the goalies aside.Devils had 13 high danger chances to the Canes’ 9. Devils scored 1 goal to the Canes’ 4.
That’s a goalie’s W. There’s no other reasonable way to read it.
And that’s fine, because the Canes actually did still play a good game and the goalie is part of the team too. But let’s not get it twisted here, that was a close game altered by an unusual advantage at one position.
Rod seemed a bit dejected. Said the first shift “was about the best shift of the game, really.”
Speaking of playoffs PP dont win cups Kills do and last night and the last few games as a matter of fact they have started to get back to form.Point percent doesn't win playoffs tho.
I get otls are a thing but to me a loss is a loss, and in the playoffs we'd be out, because we still lack scoring and have a shit pp.
0 for 4 last night out pp was bad. The first and last pp did nothing but pass.
I didnt mean to come off as it wasnt a huge win by Koochie, it just wasnt as lop sided as the shot count suggest. Like I said it was a but like a lot of our games from the last few years. Actually pretty even other then possession, shot and score.Devils had 13 high danger chances to the Canes’ 9. Devils scored 1 goal to the Canes’ 4.

Glad to see someone say this.I'm not sure Haula deserved any boos either.
Yes, he wasn't happy here, and may have requested a trade, but he also had some very unfortunate/traumatic person thing while here too.
Yeah, maybe be has also kinda acted like a dick on the ice after leaving, but he also is getting booed by us.
I personally don't really think any players deserve boos unless they call out the fanbase or something.
I don’t recall what happened in his personal life … but he was bitching about ice time/linemates, no? I’ve heard through the grapevine, not the best guy in the world. But…who knows.Glad to see someone say this.
He wife miscarried while he was here. He was very thankful for the support he received from everyone and was also understandably distraught.I don’t recall what happened in his personal life … but he was bitching about ice time/linemates, no? Ahh.He wife miscarried while he was here. He was very thankful for the support he received from everyone and was also understandably distraught.
Yep, my wife had 5 miscarriages. Wasn't until she had her first one that I found out how many of our friends had miscarried as well.Ahh.
Side note - never realized how common those are, until my wife got pregnant the first time. It’s so much more-talked-about now than, say, 20 years ago. At least that’s my perception.
