This is why I want Andy to make the team. The kids ready to break in.

from my 45 minutes there today:

Toffoli stood out among the group. I expected more from him since he's already been called up and did well. He is really that much better than the majority of the other players.

Zykov looked very smooth, but maybe I was looking for him.

Sabourin has a wicked wrist shoot.

This is what I think too. I am surprised by Nolan filing for arb. Andy would get a spot pretty quickly.

Good fire player.

Perfect player for a bottom 6.lets be honest, kings don't have many fire players which is why our 4th line was flat last year. He'd get the bottom 6 really going. They should make space for him.

I'll be there tomorrow as well -- 3:15!

I'm 18, about 5'4", and will be wearing my Stanley Cup Kings cap along with a UCLA sweater. Please feel free to say hello.

if Thomas Hickey were still in camp, you and he would be able to see eye to eye,

Just fyi, today is beach day for the prospects, where they are going to the beach (presumably to work out). There is no afternoon session today.

I think so too. I would move Fraser for Andreof depending on who we put with him.

This year's training camp should be interesting, as there are some players who may not be a 'lock' to make the team.

Fraser, Nolan and possibly King may not be locks and Andreoff and
even Pearson could challenge for spots. Players like Vey and Shore could even challenge. That being said, I don't see them putting in more than 2 rookies...and 1 of them will be Toffoli.

This situation should hopefully create a real battle for spots.

True and this is good. The cap dropping opens up spots and competition is good for everyone

I would love to see us go with adding Toffi Vey Andy Frattin and Pearson to the line up. I know that it isn't close to being possible but I think that by the end of the next season we will see these kids on the team.

Pearson to start the 14/15 season along with Kitsyn and Vey should make us a much faster and much more exciting team to watch.

I know many people are hesitant with adding so much youth to the Nhl roster but they seem to forget that these kids at their least will be an upgrade over last season's finishing roster. It's an upgrade at its least.

It's hard to really say. Kids are pretty unpredictable. Throwing three on our bottom 6 out of no where doesn't really sound like much of a plan. I am sure Dean is going to be watching the kids closely, because the more he uses the more money he saves and can spend elsewhere, but I highly doubt that we see all of Toffoli, Pearson, Vey, and Andreoff skating for the Kings this year. Can't fathom Sutter and Dean signing off on that.

It's a long shot, but it does have promise. These players would be more comfortable playing with each other because they were in Manchester together so it'd be an easier adjustment as to having one come up solo. King and Nolan came up together and we saw how that went out. They weren't the best of the best down there.

While it is a long shot it has a lot of promise, if it were to happen I see it being easier since they would be coming up together.

An upgrade in talent, yes. But if it was all just about talent, then they'd have made the team a year or two ago and the Edmonton Oilers would have had home ice advantage in the playoffs last year.

Injecting four fresh faced rookies, only one of which (Toffoli) has ever played an NHL regular season game, into a line up is a move done by teams in a rebuild, not teams who are coming off back to back Western Conference Finals berths.

Toffoli should be on the team, Frattin will be on the team, and likely Vey should be considered strongly as well to start the season. Pearson and Andy Andy should be back in Manchester next season, at least to start the season, unless they really wow someone in camp.

Not really an upgrade in talent. Edmonton and kings are completely different. We have a veteran top 6. You are making bad comparisons.

Anyways even though it won't likely happen it would probably work out and be an upgrade.

I think Vey and Toffoli are both on the opening night roster. I think both Andy Andy and Pearson get called up over the course of the year.

I think Nolan is going to lose his spot on the team and arbitration to boot.

I'm not comparing Edmonton and LA. I'm just stating that an upgrade in talent does not equate to an upgrade in results. Edmonton is proof of that.
