Hope some of you are able to go to Dev Camp and make some good reports! I am stuck in Ft Worth for awhile and won't be there.

Seems weird, to have more defensemen than forwards on the list.
There must be more forwards attending. ? Ladue is not on this list, but assume he should be there. Kempe not on there.
Only 7 forwards there? LOL.
I suppose they could invite Jake Marchment, if they are considering a possible AHL deal ?
Anyone else missing?

Unless there is more invites that we don't know about, I'm surprised I've only seen 3 announced. Two goalies, Samu Perhonen & Brody Wilms, and one forward, Matt Luff, so far.

Little feature on Jack Flinn, the 6'8" goalie prospect the Kings have signed to an AHL deal. He's probably going to be the #1 goalie in Manchester and be the 3rd minor league goalie behind Budaj and Campbell.

By next year I figure he may be backing up or starting in Ontario if all goes well.

Cool, Ziggy. Thanks for sharing that. Wow, 6'8". He'll blend in with Schmaltz.

I'm excited about the new Kings coming into the fold, the free agents and the prospects. With Development Camp starting today and maybe some fan reports to come, I'm almost as excited as a New Jersey Devils fan.

I'm hoping people can provide observations and reports. I have several things going on where I cannot do it this year, so I am counting on all of you to be the awesome fans I know you are.

Your epic reports will be missed.

With 7-8 forwards at camp, should be able to get lengthy
reports on all of them. lol.

Interesting that Lintuniemi not attending? Also, no Ladue or Jack Campbell?
Would expect both to be there.

Lintuniemi has not even made it to AHL, so you think he would not get a
pass.

A search on center Patrick Bjorkstrand...playing in the KHL.
Did a search and found that he scored 2 less points than Gilbert Brule
on the team. Wondered what happened to Brule. I recall the Kings wanted Brule from the Oil (in Smyth deal?) and settled on Fraser.

Anyway, will be interesting to see if any camp invitees are offered an AHL (or 2 way) deal.

Amazingly both Tuukka Mantyla and Daniel Taylor are on that team! Good lord Daniel is 30!

Always felt bad for Brule. Could not help but thing I'd he had been brought up a little slower he'd have had a career but I think he wasn't a king because he couldn't pass medical.

Also brother of Oliver Bjorkstrand, one of the Lake Erie/CBJ kids that ripped up the Reign.

Guess we know who our deadline deal will be for ;)

Patrick Bjorkstand in kings development camp, that's surprising, he seems to be well liked in Medvescak, and when attending an development camp Columbus would be the obvious choice, It would be fun having a fellow dane on kings roster though, but that seems to be more than a long shot especially with the depth we now have and I doubt he we would would play for ahl salary so europe is most likely where he plays next season. I guess he's invited because he's a fast skater with decent size and is very versatile. Many had high hopes for him in this years wch, but he was disappointing and was even demoted to the fourth line.

Anybody know what time the morning sessions start?

Per The Mayor,

"As for the Dev Camp schedule, there are usually separate groups for the forwards, defensemen and goalies running from about 8:00-11:30am daily. Then, a full session with all prospects typically follows later in the afternoon, around 3:00pm. Per team officials, the Kings are no longer releasing an official schedule. However, from what we’ve been told, things are expected to follow a similar timeline to years past."

I'd LOVE to try to make it tomorrow at least but my schedule is wonky to where I'd miss everything perfectly, heh. Mayyyybe Friday.

Edit: Also, if the schedule is like previous years, I saved this comment (though I can't recall from who--sorry!) re: the daily schedule: "Camp Schedule should be for the most part daily 11 AM until 2 PM. As it was last year, it will be a split squad with the Defensive Player Instruction session starting around 11:00 AM until 12:30, then Offensive Player Instruction session starting around 12:30 until 2:00 PM. There is a break between 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM then both Offense and Defense player instruction and scrimmage from 3:30 until 5:00 PM. Goaltenders might be asked to be part of one or the other earlier sessions, and then all goaltenders participating in the combined instruction/drill/scrimmages. "

YOu can search this forum for "development" threads and you'll get a handful of years-past stuff, but unfortunately, regulars have tailed off since about 2013ish (coinciding with the Cup and our less-sexy prospect pool, I'm guessing--we had more to look forward to!).

FWIW, Bjorkstrand played with the Kopitar bros in Sweden...

Yup they were teamates in mora in Sweden 2, I don't think they were linemates tho 13 points doesn't support that, he got signed in khl the following year which I didn't expect at the time. I has actully played againts him several times in junior, had a nasty collision with him aswell where he was carried out and I limped badly. bth acording to this link he seems pretty serious about gaining a contract he has until mid july to impress or he will go back
