This is just preseason so the intensity isn't as high as it will be a week from now but Mintens game looks extremely pro ready.

Making smart plays all over the ice, winning faceoffs, taking the body when needed and consistently pressuring the puck.

This is starting to look like a quality pick and he has the skillset to be a good 3rd line C pretty soon.

His skating and overall pace is better than I was anticipating.

Leafs have been in mid season form for 3 games now. This game Tavares is li e has been hemmed in the majority of there shifts. Everything looks like an adventure out there. Someone glue that stick in Samsonovs hand

Alright only pre season... but they have 1 period left playing the big boys most likely in pre season so come out and win the period and the game.

That was a sloppy last 10 minutes.

I don't think Reaves is, I think anyone else is.

Even if Minten is better, it is marginal, and it is bad asset management.
maybe it is, but at the end of the day if a prospect comes out and does what hes doing and deserves to make the team then on occasion u need to take a very small L with another player and let the kid cook lol. hes outperforming most players on this team right now imo

He’s also big and strong to go along with his vision and hockey IQ. Just seems like he can effortlessly support on D, win puck battles all over the place and make very opportunistic little touches of the puck. If preseason is a contest about who has played best he’d be on the team.

The question the Leafs will ask themselves is do they roll the dice on starting him in the NHL now or give him the chance to dominate the WHL and be an important WJC veteran and have that big dog experience at lower levels.

O-Dog is 100% right. Knies and Minten should definitely be in the opening night lineup and playing together.

selfishly one of the reasons i want knies/minten etc on this team is also so that i can actually be excited to watch regular season games with this team again lol.
