That's what you get for drafting too many Euros

They're just a soft, soft team.

Seider getting shoved off the puck by Batherson. Debrincat not going in the corner and gave up on a puck because he was going to get hit. Larkin and Raymond diving all over the place and looking back at the ref for a call. Raymond got manhandled by Tkachuk and immediately starts diving after, while Stutzle goes roof daddy the other way.

Two years ago, the Sens played the Wings twice in two days, towards the end of the season. The Wings were fighting for a playoff spot. The Sens blew them out in two straight games, and just physically dominated them. Like, beat them up, outmuscled them, just physically dominant. Tkachuk offers to fight anyone on the bench, and you could literally see every player putting their head down, turning away, looking like a teenager checking the Weather app when a girl walks in the room. And then Tkachuk scores by outmuscling the Wings defensemen, and flexes his arms as a celebration in front of them.

And guess what, nothing has changed. Watson just got cranked up in a hit by Kleven, down 3-0, and no reaction. Oh, Watson slashed him, that was it.
Great instigator post, I love it

DeBrincat is 27 and has two years after this one. He’s in his prime. Good example of Yzerman not knowing what his timeline is. Is he a placeholder or a guy that was supposed to help the wings take an important step?
Yzerman firing Lalonde and then hiring McLellan should tell you what he thinks. If there's any criticism, it's that he should have moved on from Lalonde sooner.

This team is close to having its window open up and when you can get a 30 goal scorer for good value, you make that move. He traded Hronek to Vancouver and looks to have used that draft pick to pick up an Erik Karlsson clone in Axel Sandin-Pelikka.

His NA scouts likely suggested signing guys like Chiarot and Holl. Says something about something.

The NA scouts need clearing out entirely.

So close to tying it there. 40 seconds, curious if they can tie it up. Feel like losing to Sen's tonight would be the final dagger.

Did Kasper get hurt?

He came back and made a sick play to Raymond, and Lucas undressed Ullmark with a sexy goal. Also, Sanderson is a giveaway machine.

Lucas undressed the refs diving all over the ice. That goal was as sexy as Kaitlyn Jenner and Ullmark should have had it. But despite zebras falling for the most epic diving performance of all time still came up short.

He’s probably been studying Timmy’s game tape. Generational Olympic diver.

Crazy how Raymond has dived three times in our last two games and Stu hasn’t dove in years but whatever helps y’all sleep at night.
LOL dude it’s possible for them both to be divers. I agree Raymond dives. To say that Stutzle hasn’t done so in years is pure lunacy. He does at least once every game and yes I watch plenty of sens games living in Ontario.

No need to be such a homer about it.

Stu got his reputation for a reason and it was deserved, and it stuck and this forum will never forget. He hasn’t been that type of player for two seasons. Raymond is young as well and lots of good talent mature and grow out of it. Unless your Brendan Gallagher or Brad Marchand.

Imagine giving up assets to miss the playoffs while Detroit stands pat and keeps their prospects. I can’t wait for the actual Yzerplan to come knocking, bc it’s coming.

What assets did Ottawa give up? They traded for a younger healthier center (Cozen vs Norris) and picked up Zetterlund and a 2nd for spare parts. They came out of deadline asset positive and younger and more balanced. All the assets were already spent by our previous dumb GM and late owner who combined had half a brain.

Don’t get me wrong, Ottawa window is short and cupboards are still empty but can enjoy a few years of being decent before it’s time for a retool.

Oh look, it's this thread again.

Someone please tell me why, since we haven't been in the Playoffs for so long, this is a relevant thread?

Come on, mods. You're better than this. Or not, I don't know. I had a 16 year old account banned for questioning a mod decision. Your choice.

As a Wings fan, this is simply a poor joke. As a hockey fan, who wants to keep seeing this stupid thread about a mediocre, irrelevant team bumped?

I asked about other teams before. First page, two locked threads. Nobody is asking about other teams' downfall or problems. Or issues. Or anything. I don't care that it happened before, this is now. We're looking at now, now.

When will then be now? As soon as this stupid f***ing thread is locked down. Serious bias being shown here by "moderators," which, by definition, are "People who facilitate and guide discussions, debates, or events, ensuring they stay on track, are engaging, and adhere to established guidelines and time limits, while also maintaining a neutral and respectful environment."

None of this thread is being "moderated" at all.

why not just click “ignore thread”? Serious question

Lot of Detroit fans talk about 3 years from now, that’s when the window opens

Larkin is 29y next season, what kind of rebuild is build on for the past his prime 1C over in his prime 1C?

Just when they are about to open their window they’d need to turn around and find a new franchise C, which is so easy

Also lot of Detroit fans talk about depth and this being about depth, where I just don’t see the high end talent to make their dream reality

They are building a good team, not a contending team

Larkin- Raymond just doesn’t hit you the same as
Barkov- Tkachuk,
Matthews- Nylander,
Point- Kucherov etc

Detroit has problems at multiple level and need to figure those out before they can be seriously taken as contenders

Imo the Sens have star players in key roles. They have a true 1C, 1D, and power forward to build their roster around. The Wings don’t have those guys yet.

My favorite posts are when people post in threads asking why people post in threads.

Yup. And whose job was it over the last six years to find (via trade, UFA signing, or draft) to get those key players?

I’m guessing we are still supposed to blame the last guy

6 years is way too short amount of time to figure out anything

If you have bad luck in draft (the excuse) then you need to figure out other ways to find the solutions, UFA market, trade market. Y is being paid millions to do his job, not find excuses
