They’ve also got several injuries along with Larkin/Raymond likely playing through something. Not sure why you don’t say it’s Ottawa’s ”true colors” when they’re injured and slumping.
Looks kinda like nylanderyzRfaLe

We're talking about the last 5 games - i.e. the reason you're posting in this thread after not being seen here for 2 months. Losing Copp, Rasmussen, Mazur (right after being called up), along with Raymond+Larkin either dealing with injuries or just 4-nations exhaustion has been a major factor in the team not being better in this stretch.?
All your top and valuable players are literally on pace to play 80 or more games, lol. The most anyone in almost your entire roster has missed is 10 games or so. Lol.
They dug themselves into a hole under Lalonde. +/- 0 under McLellan. Why is what happened 4 years ago with a completely different roster and coach more relevant than the last 3 months?Look at your goal differential last 4 years. Only last year was respectable. The others years, atrocious, near the worst of the league. Even this year a brutal -21. 2nd worst in the entire conference.
Alternate timeline WillyLooks kinda like nylander
This thread wins the which Yzerplan thread lasts longer race.lol.
Wings can still get in but last night had to hurt. I noticed kasper has gone quite cold. Maybe he heats up
Every rebuild is different. It's very difficult to compare Columbus to Detroit. Arguing that they started in 2022 is one of the most silly things I've ever heard, but even if you want to do that it's objectively true that they started from a completely different spot than Detroit in 2019. If Yzerman had prime Panarin, Bob, Werenski, Jones, PLD in his lineup in 2019 do you really not think Detroit's in a different place right now?
I'm not sure basing the entire outlook on Cayden Lindstrom is what you want to be doing. Again, the rebuilds are different and Detroit doesn't have one...
Edvinsson their future franchise 1D is playing his 1st full season and Kasper is just starting to get his feet wet in the NHL, Raymond is 22y. Meanwhile, Werenski is at the peak of his prime already and he is what he is.BB88 said:Fantilli their future franchise 1C is playing his 1st full season and Mateychuk is just starting to get his feet wet in the NHL, Johnson is 22y. Meanwhile Larkin is at the peak of his prime already and he is what he is.
Detroit's rebuild started earlier but it started essentially from scratch and whether by luck or by design, Columbus has gotten higher picks which speeds things up.BB88 said:From 16-17 season to 19-20 seasons Columbus made the playoffs every year.
2018 Columbus drafted at 18th overall, 2019 they didn’t have a 1st round pick, the year they went all in at the deadline, 2020 they drafted at 21st overall. They weren’t a rebuilding team before Detroit was. In Detroit it started in 2017 and Y came in 2019.
It's always funny that the only time Larkin's held up as this bonafide superstar player is when someone wants to make a strawman argument about the Red Wings rebuild taking a long time. Any other time? He's an okay 1C at best.BB88 said:You also act like Y didn’t have their 1C already in place when he got there and not even in his prime yet. He hasn’t even had to figure out the most important position and we are year 6 and he’s still battling to even get into the playoffs in a pathetic WC race
So name a significantly faster rebuild that wasn't 99% massive lottery luck. I'll wait.BB88 said:Sure rebuilds are different, good rebuild don’t take 10 years to make. You just always love to use the badly done rebuilds as an example and ignore all the better done rebuilds.
What would be "something to show for it"? A 1st round exit? Cayden Lindstrom? Honestly, what would count in your eyes?BB88 said:A fact is this is at the end of year 6 for Y and he has absolutely nothing to show for it and there are multiple rebuilding/young teams in the league who have a better looking future than Detroit. Y is buildin a good team, not a great team
Wings played an awesome game, though. That was next level of being ‘Goalie’d’. Super unfortunate that when you finally get one by, it was just a second too late.Im a die hard Wings fan but this is hilarious. Touche.
I don't know why staying in the hunt matters. To me problem in Detroit is this....Larkin turns 29 this year. IMO right now he's a borderline guy right now as to whether you can win a cup with him as your 1C. Even best case scenario the window for Detroit starts in maybe 2-3 years, I don't see how that works out when your top line center at the start of your window is 31/32 years old.Yeaaaah…
This is two TDLs in a row that Detroit should have done something to stay in the hunt. Two off seasons in a row they didn’t.
I’m not a fan of GMSY right now.
I'd just like to point something out.
