Detroit Redwings Downfall

The New Coach Bump… a classic tale as old as time. The Wings will cool down soon.

The roster is just not good. The coach was brutal, now the coach is below average but not as bad. Wings are overachieving the last few games.

I agree but Wings will get better as they have a lot of solid prospects developing in the system. They are still a rebuilding team on their way up. It's nice to see them build a winning culture as they inject more youth each season.

Can we please get fans of successful teams to make fun of Detroit?

Senators fans have even less to brag about with their fandom than Leafs fans.
It’s nice I don’t have to hate the Red Wings or their fans anymore. This made me lol.

Incredible in-depth analysis. You don't think they'll have a .800pts% forever? Such insight.
Do you also believe Montreal might cool down soon? Is it possible that the Rangers bounce back? Please give us more of this wealth of hockey knowledge you're sitting on.

Why wouldn’t he?

Players like him don’t all of sudden suck.

lol
Bum hip.

Obviously he had surgery on it, but he's like the only guy who has had that surgery and has played this many games afterwards.

Wouldn't have been at all surprising if it gave out, and Kane looked like ass a lot in his last season with the Hawks when he was playing with his (pre surgery) bum hip.

They went not missing the playoffs for 25 years and multiple cup wins. I think they can stand to suck for another decade or so.

It's incredible his surgery is showing successful given how complicated it is. This hopefully helps other players in the future who need the same procedure.

Kane has never been a blazing skater, but he's been skating like a madman this season. The best I've seen him skate in years. I hope he keeps playing in the league for many more years.

Patrick Kane seems to have something left in the tank.

4 goals, 4 assists the last 5 games
It’s nice to see the team play with passion and fun again…Why Yzerman didn’t fire Uncle Fester this past summer is beyond me.

It must annoy you that Detroit will hoist the :stanley: before Tronna

Yeah, nobody with that surgery has even come remotely close to what Kane is doing. Pretty much a career ender in the past. Based on that, I didn't think Kane would be a factor at all post-surgery. Awesome that he is being successful.

Kindve insane how many people I talked to in this thread that claimed they didn't personally care about Detroit yet won't touch this thread right now
You're complaining that people that say they don't care about Detroit aren't posting in a Detroit thread?

This whole thread, along with the overall ongoing slap-fights between the leagues worst teams to determine who is less worse is embarrassing to be a part of

Something must have been bothering him at the start of the year because he was not producing...the coach at the time didn't help eithrr
He made some comments alluding to not being a fan of the style of play they were going for under Lalonde.

They were pretty much playing dump and change hockey, not trying to hold on to the puck at all.

I'm pointing out how many people only posted in this thread after losses because they did in fact care about Detroit

Yzerplan is still bad and they're still hurting their draft position with a young core that is not good enough. Yes they're in a no-win position unless they magically(lotto) get a top 4 pick in this draft

Yzerman is still bad because........ he knew the Toddfather was the answer but for some reason (most likely just a bad manager) held on the Fester, lol.

Brilliant move so far with Mclellan, same team but playing like NHL players again.
