Buffalo has actually had the lottery luck to acquire top talent, and has missed the Playoffs almost 13 seasons. How many threads do they have?

Sabres fans themselves are defeated so there is less discussion to be had. You can only say "Sabres are brutal" to each other so much before people move on.

Wings fans still have faith in their team obviously, so they push back against negativity as all fans do. So when people come in here and say the rebuild is failing or Steve is a terrible GM, they get quite a bit of pushback which leads to more discussions.

Ottawa have been clowned for the past few seasons (like Summer of Dorian)

Not multi threads at the same time that were allowed to run well past the normal 1000 post limit. Not saying Ott hasn't gotten grief, but right now there is two running at the same time, with the haters of Detroit just repeating the same Detroit sucks thing over and over. So why are either of these threads still open? Regardless which team it is, Ott, Det or other, there needs to be exactly zero threads where haters just run a team down over and over again.

After about 500-800 posts, both should have been closed as nothing new is being said really from either side.

Not a topic I'd know a lot about as he's never coached a team i cheer for but I feel like McLellan hasn't had much of an impact since the Sharks and that was a good core before he got there. Maybe I'm wrong but he feels like an overrated guy.

So basically you don't want to hear DRWs fan's opinion. You want to hear your opinion coming out of their mouth.

... which leads to more discussions.

Seems more like circular arguing than actual discussing.

Everyone is trying to discredit the organization ~> Wings fans trying to make arguments to the contrary ~> People ignoring those arguments and still trying to dump on the organization ~> Wings fans trying to make arguments to the contrary

Rinse. Repeat.

It's not a "discussion" if the majority of the people participating aren't "discussing" in good faith.

Did you really expect anything else? The same people mouthing off and laughing at the expense of the Wings now, tend to be the same guys crying themselves to sleep when their own team fails time after time. The only bright spot in their day appears to be "getting back" at a team that used to beat them regularily but for now doesn't

Detroit has so much internal progression that they can bank on. All of their cornerstone pieces have another gear.

If they don’t draft or make another trade they will get better every year solely on development alone.

It’s not all gloom and doom.

Ottawa is struggling to make the playoffs with our core sans Norris playing where we expect them to and some of our players (Giroux) aging. We have no help on the way other than Yakemchuk.

Adding another difference maker in the draft won’t help them make the playoffs, but will help them win the cup. If Detroit isn’t ready to make the playoffs, I’d rather be bottom 5 than bottom 10.

I’d rather miss the playoffs for 10 years and build a contender than to make the playoffs in 5 years as a wildcard and get first rounder every year.

Not much potential waiting in the wings either.
You don't think Buchelnikov on pace for the U22 KHL scoring record and Sandin-Pellikka on pace for U20 SHL scoring record is potential?
Augustine, Cossa, Danielson, MBN, Lombardi, Mazur, Finnie etc. are also very promising.

Not like Kasper (20 year old rookie), Edvinsson (21 year old almost rookie), Raymond (one of the league's best U23 players) and Seider (one of the league's best U25D) are done developing either.

They have missed on a staggering amount of picks since 2017, and had no surprise breakout players (like a Batherson, Pinto or Peterka). No assets that turned into core players (like a Norris or Tage Thompson). No pleasant surprises at all. That is the answer to everything.
Pinto has 9 points this season.
Yes, they've not had an Eichel or Erik Karlsson to trade for assets.

That said their 1st round picks are progressing extremely well, with potential top 3 value from each of 2019, 2020 and 2021. Cossa and Sandin-Pellikka also look like potential homerun picks. Danielson/Kasper/MBN at worst are trending towards being good players and okay-to-good value for their draft position.

Imo the draft evaluations are premature. It takes more time than most think. They only need 1 or 2 of Lombardi/Finnie/Mazur/Augustine/Buchelnikov/Wallinder/Plante/etc. to hit to completely change the discourse around their drafting given that their 1st round picks look so good.

Other than ASP, no nothing special incoming. And even he's no guarantee.

If you are being honest, then please point to this chart and show the class where Red Wings spin their wheels or regress. The class will wait....

Are you new here?

My god.

Similar threads for other teams gets shut down, certain fanbases struggle to behave :)

I swear you're in every detroit related thread, it's funny to look at your activity.

Anyway, let's have a discussion. Let's first reach a common ground. Does Pittsburgh have any special prospects? If not, list some examples of other special prospects.

What is going on with the Detroit Redwings!? Each game is just a letdown to sit through! Despite all the star power we have this year, we can't even score like we did last year! Poor overseeing from
management to put Husso in for the NYR game tonight too! Something significant has to happen for this organization because it is unacceptable!!!
The downfall was 15 years ago.

Pittsburgh isn't really relevant here. But obviously their prospect pool is barren and they're staring at a lengthy rebuild when Crosby and Malkin retire.

And I'm in threads about all teams, i like hockey first and foremost. This is an interesting case since so many wings fans are deluded by the state of their rebuild, and have a cult like obsession with their gm. If you don't want your feelings hurt stay on the wings board.

I’m shocked people aren’t impressed by a team with the 30th xGF% and CF%, 32nd SF%, 26th GF%, 29th SCF%, 28th HDCF% that is 28th in the league.
Yeah us wings fans are in here constantly to defend the teams performance this year. I swear people keep coming in here to argue things that's never been said. But hey if it makes you feel smart, feel free.

Haha, you keep doing this. Define what a "special" prospect is, to even begin a discussion whether or not Wings have any special prospects in the pool we first gotta define it.

Oh and you're not hurting any feelings, you're amusing at this point.

One with game breaking offensive potential? Zippola there after ASP and he's a dman. Nothing exciting whatsoever in the forward group.

You don't want to give me any examples? Do i need to phrase the question again?
If you don't understand what a game breaking talent looks like that says a lot about why you think Detroit is on the right track. Feel free to check some of the top prospects playing at the WJC, or some of the young forward talent the has joined the NHL recently.
