Sambrook...

Not sure why holmstrom gets any votes

He is too far removed from his draft year to be anything in the NHL and his chances of making it are slim to none to begin with

Petruzzelli/Russo then a whole lot of 'who cares' and 'career Toledo/GR at best'.

Way too early to say that for guys like Gallant and Kotkansalo... and I think Sambrook is a pretty good prospect. Pearson had a pretty strong freshman season at Maine.

Why can't a 21 year old be a prospect? He had a great first year in the SHL, even better second year, but was injured this past season. The guy is a PPG player in the playoffs to boot. He also looked good in GR when he came overseas.

I don't think it's ever too early to suggest that a couple of third round picks are long shots to do anything of note.

Where did you get this 21 year old part?

Sorry but I don't think European players drafted late in the entry draft who are four years post draft and still haven't played in the NHL let any significant time in North America tend to mount to much, the learning curve is too steep.

I certainly can't think of many or any such players from other clubs who overcame those exact odds.

You said he is far too removed from his draft year. He's only 21.
