Id like to repeat they have played hockey their whole lives, are professionals, have gotten nothing but instruction that entire time, and still ignore fundamentals like slot = good and lateral pass at blueline = bad.

This is who they are, what they default to. This is not who Cuylle is or what he defaults to, so he looks like a normal hockey player while they don't.

I think the wildest thing about the difference between last year and this year is that Lavi seemed to always know exactly what adjustments to make mid game to get the team to compete. He was masterful last year up until that final round where the team was just outclassed by a better opponent.

This year, it’s like he has zero clue on what to do. Zero.

Ask Panarin to waive at the deadline. Retain half on him to maximize the return. Kreider and Zibanejad are summer moves. Lindgren should be gone for a day 2 pick or two at the deadline.

I'd even ask Trochek if he wants out. Kakko 1C. f*** it, why not? See what he can do.

I'd give Laffy more reign on this team. See if he excels after a year. If not, just make the trade with Montreal.
