I still think Fowler is gone.. we need forward depth bad, none of that helps with that.. and Theodore is ready and looks like Larsson is good to go too.

And if we aren't trading Fowler for forward help then we need to look to trade 1 of Theodore montour or larsson for equally ready and skilled forward.

Perhaps Despres to Carolina? He does play the right side very well, which I think was the main sticking point of trading Stoner there.

There's no market for Despres until he can show he can stay healthy for a good stretch of games. Would you take a chance for 5 years on a guy who missed half a season with a concussion and is injured in the first game of the following season?

Despres is injured.

Again. Serious concussion last year and a long term deal. LOTS of risk for anyone picking him up. Not sure if he has positive value until he can prove himself healthy.

Of course, he missed the third period last game with an "upper body" injury.

Wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole right now.

That's fine but fowler for forward help means you probably still need to dump these guys to fit lindholm.

It's honestly depends I think 2 of Fowler despres bieska and stoner have to be moved... and even if we move despres + stoner I feel our offense will suck enough we have to move Fowler for forward help

This.

Nobody is taking on Despres right now. Certainly not the Canes, I doubt they would even take him with a large plus attached. They might take on Stoner with a high-end prospect (Montour would be my ask) included.

Despres for 3rd and 5th round pick

Stoner + 2nd and 3rd round pick for a 6th round pick

Any takers?
The entire league knows what kind of trouble the Ducks are in.
As of right now every team has a chance at the playoffs and every team has at least a couple games vs the Ducks so they aren't going to help.

Stoner doesn't help a team more than playing against Lindholm hurts
Despres brain is mush

Seeing how the Ducks have painted themselves in a corner other GM's can play hardball since no one cares much if they miss out on Stoner.

Stoner, 1st rounder & a prospect for a 6th rounder.
or
Stoner & a 2nd for a $2 million a year cap dump.

Committing 5 years to Despres with his concussion issues is to risky.

despres is becoming damaged goods and lol at any team wanting stoner

if they can trade despres and get something in return i'm all for it considering even if the ducks keep him he'll be in vegas next season as he won't be protected in the expansion draft

Yikes, that's a lot to give up for two years of an overpaid but still serviceable Stoner.

I'd probably give up a 1st to shed Depres though, I think he's pretty much done.

At the current rate, there's no chance any team would take him without a significant plus. The expansion draft will have far more intriguing options.

that ask for Dupress is a joke, right?

As for Stoner--only teams that have the space for stoner's contract have internal cap considerations and even adding the picks do not help

I don't know why any team should help the Ducks out of their self-imposed mess unless the Ducks pay up.

I think they should all sit and wait Bob Murray out until he ponies up.
