Loved D Step. One of the most underrated homegrown talents of the last 20 years. Was never fleet of foot but kept up with the play. Enjoyed watching him nightly, great hockey IQ.

Made the most of what he had and was part of a very good Rangers core. Rangers were right to move on when they did. Also had an all time great debut game.

Step was an awesome 2C, and I'll forever treasure him scoring the OT GWG against the Caps the night of my bachelor party.

He was a little over his head as a 1C, but he was a damn good Ranger and dude. Can't believe it's been a career already. Seems like yesterday he was finishing off the hatty in his debut.
