Yes, Denton's 5'11 if you round up.

I was watching Moose Jaw the other day and in the play call I heard "Mateychuk passes it up to....", and it gave me a weird deja vu feeling, more like I had gone back in time and was now trapped in some previous year. Apparently it was his 6'5 brother Kasen who signed with Moose Jaw and happened to be playing one of a handful of games.

Honestly I think Mateychuk was a better 2 way defenseman his rookie season (much more defensively sound)than Werenski was . When you look back , Mateychuks poise defensively is uncanny for a rookie . Zach was certainly better offensively … as Mateychuks confidence settled in , you started to see his offensive game appearing .. I think we have Damn good one in Mateychuk

Safe is death. Torts probably had visions of current Werenski and preached the rover style for him so its not exactly a 1 to 1 comparison

there’s actually a pretty huge impact from “what is your coach telling you to do” on the perception + advanced stats for a lot of players.

no coach is saying “be bad defensively” but torts told werenski to play as a rover, so he did. lots of coaches are fine with their skill guys cheating a bit for offense.

Given that it's going to be a while before he gets PP time, he is going to be underrated for a LONG time. Love love love his game.
