I'd like to see him work with one of those skating specialist. Has worked wonders for some others over here recently.

I think he's been working at it in season somehow. It's been getting better and better. He's become very mobile out there.

I've only been able to catch a limited amount of games this year. IMO, Everberg's defensive awareness still needs work, but you can see he has the potential to carve out a role in the bottom six.

It seems to me that most of his scoring chances happen in lots of traffic very close to the net - which is fine. But it also seems to me that he doesn't frequently put the puck on net with any force or quickness in those situations. Seems to get stuck in his feet a lot. Not sure if that's a strength thing (maybe play closer to the ice when he's near the net or something), but if he can figure that part of his game out, he's going to score some goals, because he's always around the net with the puck nearby.

His skating a good for a big guy.

Really? I think his defensive awareness is one of the best on the team. He's consistently the guy coming back down low or into the slot to cover for teammates mistakes that left a man wide open.

I think the only area he really needs to work hard at improving is finishing his scoring chances. Both off the rush, and his touch around the net with rebounds and such. He should work with O'Reilly on those little drills at the end of practice he does around the net.

He's very aware of his surroundings all over the ice and is positionally very smart.

I'd argue his defensive awareness is right up there with O'Reilly and Landeskog to be honest. Roy trusts him enough to put him on the PK, and almost always has him out there defending a lead late in games now, when we do have it lol, but he's usually out there. He's great defensively. That part of his game will never be questioned. It's whether he can take the next step offensively that people wonder about

It's possible since I've only had limited viewings of him that I've just seen his poorer games, but I didn't like his positioning on some of the plays that I have seen.

He sometimes finds himself out of position, but he is good at blocking shots, getting sticks in lanes, and finding a way to get the puck out of the zone under pressure and usually to a teammate as well.

The goal that got disallowed? I remember Everberg trying that move in the 1st preseason home game against Anaheim and nearly scoring. That's when I knew he was going to make this team. I remember watching him at the rookie camp during the drills and commenting on how he's probably a guy that would look better in game situations, and that's certainly the case.

He's getting more and more confident out there. It's great to watch.

I feel like he does that move better than Duchene does that move sometimes lol. He's got the size and the reach to pull it off more often than not. He definitely has a head for the game. He's easily IMO going to solidify himself as a permanent 3rd liner on this team moving forward. Only a matter of time before he starts getting a few more goals with how often he goes to the net

I would say Brian Boyle for the most part. If he puts on some more muscle in the offseason then he will basically be Brian Boyle with better puck handling and a little shorter.

Roy said if he puts on some weight and continues to develop, he could be one of the best 3rd liners in the NHL. I'm all in on him and on the hype train.

I think he basically forced Talbot off this team. Hopefully there are other young players who get a chance and can do the same to Cliche, Bordeleau, etc.

I don't mind Bordeleau staying on this team simply because he's a big goof and he keeps things light with the boys, and if we get into a bloodbath game (Hello, Minnesota), Bordy can just go and wreck guys lol.

But Cliche can go to England and play hockey in their 3rd division for all I care. I think Rendulic makes this team next season, and if Hishon can show Roy that he's willing to do whatever it takes to stick, he may have an outside shot of making it.

Agree on Everberg though. He's basically the reason Talbot is gone. And good thing, too. Everberg is so much better than him

Along with getting stronger I still would like to see him get more offensive confidence. I think he has the shot, size and speed to be a legit 15-20 goal guy down the road.

Him playing in Lake Erie all year would have been good for him.

I think that confidence is starting to show already. He is driving the net, and skating with the puck a lot more than the first half of his season. He does seem to have some really bad luck in terms of getting points, last nights no goal call seemed like the 4th or 5th time he should've gotten a point but the goal was called back.

I'd be surprised if Rendulic makes the team out of camp for the following reasons:
1. McGinn and hopefully Winchester will be back
2. We need good players to call up until Bleackley, Magyar and Nantel move up to the AHL. He is a great option for that being waiver exempt.
3. He can still work on his offense in the AHL.

If he's good enough to make the team, he should make the team. It was a small sample size, but I liked what I saw in both pre-season and in his games as a call-up. He's got a lot of speed and skill, and plays the way Roy wants him to.

"I like his size, I like his physicality, he finishes his checks," Roy said after practice Thursday. "I love the fact defensively that he's very reliable, he'll block shots. The part that I was hoping to see from him playing in the minors all year was to get some confidence offensively. He's starting now to challenge D's. He had a one-on-one where he took a nice shot. He went around on that (third-period Mitchell) goal that was disallowed. I just feel he's improved a lot in the last five or six games. I'm very pleased with him.

"He was not supposed to play (in Colorado) this year. He was supposed to be just a call-up. Now he's playing a lot of games and I think he'll benefit from that."
