Miller with a big ass oof there and Panarin following up with an oof of his own.

You want to yell at individual players then go ahead and waste your energy, but the whole team gave up 40 shots in a shooting gallery that Quick had to face. 40. Shots. When does this insanity end. Not only did we give up 40 shots, but we gave up a 3-0 lead and all the team had to do with play defense after going up.

NOPE.

Just so I am clear...

Are you lecturing people for calling out players like you did in your previous sentence?

I'm no expert but if I were to try to analyze this team I would say areas of concern are overall team defense and also the focus to do the right things for sixty minutes.

Yours truly,
Captain Obvious.

The positive is that we've played a lot better, probably the last 5 games, the negative is that it's still not good enough

Difficult to find your game and produce results in the stretch against tougher competition.
Unfortunately, unless lightning strikes Mika, Panarin, Trochek, Lafreniere, Fox and Miller and they go to their full potential, this team is gonna be in the muddy middle. I don't see all that happening this year without some sort of catalyst, a trade, Rempe bringing some energy and coming in and playing like he did 5 mins before he got suspended, a coaching changes, Gm change, something has to spark this team to get them to the next level. I know most will balk at my Rempe comment but go watch Fat Maroon laugh at our whole team, he even bumps Smith and turns his back to Brodzinski, there's no confidence or sense of team at all here. The fat prick was making a joke of our whole bench. He would never dare do that to teams that have a heartbeat, I don't care if it was Cirelli, Point and Hagel on the ice they'd have jumped him right there, but ofcourse he wouldn't do it to those types of teams, they know we're soft and won't stick up for the team. There's no sense of team here, and it starts with our leadership outside of Trochek. Jamie Benn cross checked Fox out of the way last night and instead of getting right beside him again Fox took the easy route and stayed away from him, that was the game winner, and that type of thing happens to players who aren't confident the team has their back. We're right back to Wilson rag dolling Panarin again.

Blowing a 3-0 and 4-3 lead (with under 0 to play) at home should be a fireable offense for Housley and Laviolette, given the season we've had.. How it's not even a consideration is beyond me. At this point they need a coach with a defensive system, I dont care if Drury has to swallow his pride. Laviolette has proved himself a moron. Firing the coach shouldnt change the fact that many more guys need to be moved. They are independent objectives.

I rewatched the second period. I didn't see anything happen to Chytil. His last shift occurred about 15 minutes in, there was a stoppage in play with 4:02 left as Quick froze the puck. Zero body contact to Chytil in all of his shifts up to then. He looked fine. That line, in fact, didn't take another shift the rest of the period. The rotation had them taking a shift in the final minute of play and only Berard got out there as Smith and Zibanejad couldn't get off.
Maybe the Borg body slammed Chytil between periods for not letting him use his stick when his broke.

It's beyond time, and at the interviews, if the coach mentions man to man coverage for this team then he's disqualified

Honestly I thought he got benched at first because he was the veteran forward on the ice with Berard and Edstrom and no one gave Borgen a stick. Chytil needs to get in better shape if he ever wants to shake this injury bug. So do many guys on this team. Lafreniere, Fox, Schneider, edstrom. The strength isnt there how it should be for these guys. Too many guys falling down and sucking wind.

Maybe our coach should not put our smallest D out there in this circumstance.

Chytil health aside - I think the forward group should have easier time finding their offense than the whole team playing well on defense for multiple reasons. First our D corp is not good - that was on full display since last playoff run and Drury has not addressed this issue. Second our forward corp as a whole is also not too good in playing defense which become more exposed with item three - the defensive system that has Housley signature on it is not good (either conceptually or specific to this players). And now goalies are not able to cover for all the gaps.

I don't think it's shape for Chytil. From the workout videos, to all the off ice training, he looks to be in pretty good shape. Unsure what happened last night but I don't see him avoiding these injuries by getting in better shape. Some players are just more injury prone than others.

Get bigger and stronger and the hits don't effect you as much. Maybe Chytil has a more specific issue than that but the whole team needs to get in shape because they clearly are not. I wish Torts would come back and teach this team the non-negotiables.

1 point isn't good enough. They should start trying harder.

Now there are 10 points to catch Chicago. We are not going to make it if we keep on picking up points like that.

I have no interest in catching Chicago.

I'd rather wait/hedge my bets on getting lucky with 10OA or whatever the f*** than go through another Lafreniere.

It's not a personal attack on him and obviously you hope for the best he's got, but it's legit one of the most disappointing experiences I've had as a sports fan.

Generally, yes. However, when it comes to the brain, being one of the biggest guys didn't help either Lindros brother.

Head injuries don't care how big, strong and tough a person is.Nothing Chytil can do training wise can change that
