Head injuries don't care how big, strong and tough a person is.Nothing Chytil can do training wise can change that

Mika had a bunch of head/neck injuries at the same age as Chytil and he got bigger, stronger and got past it.

Id donate my body to the Rangers for 15 million in career earnings. Larry's tweet also doesn't acknowledge why the f*** he's still playing 20 minutes a night when he's "diminished'

In the second half of the 3rd period, the Rangers were pressing the issue and Dallas mostly shot the puck out of the zone in desperation.

I don't remember the last time that happened.

Larry pissed me off with this.

Lindgren will be gone. Kreider will be gone. Laviolette will be gone. Drury will be gone. Sam Rosen will be gone. Everyone will eventually be gone.

Who's gonna be here? You and me. We're the Rangers. They borrow our shirt every time they go out there.

I'll hate who I want, old man.

Don't be haten'.

The season is over. We should be rooting for loses, draft picks, and change in general. I’m kinda glad they blew it.

This isn't the NFL. They're not going to lose out and frankly rooting for them to lose 40 games is not appealing. Also there' a lottery system. And even beyond that there's no can't miss prospect. Is James Hagen really any better than Gabe Perrault who we took in the 20s?

Happy Laf got back on the board and hopefully this leads him into a nice bit of a run. Mika scoring more again is nice to see. I'm happy for them as people and hope they're both in better mental spaces going forward.

That being said, I really wish the MSG propaganda machine didn't keep spinning it as if they're right in the thick of the playoff race. They're the 7th worst team in points% in the league. It's ok to admit this team is just done this year and to reset and regroup from there. Acting like Laviolette is innocent in all of this as if he isn't a main reason this team has fallen apart is what's really frustrating. This team is the dingleberry of the NHL standings, but at the end of the day, it's still just shit.

Even if it's in the offseason, it's time to bring in a coach to grow with the U25 core, whether it's someone like Carle, Pecknold, or Woodcroft. Stick with them like Arizona/Utah has done with Andre Tourigny, and let the team grow organically. There are some good u25 pieces that range from top-end support guys to really good bottom-6; same for the defense plus having a 1D in Adam Fox. They're still missing that guy up front, and it's not going to happen via trade or UFA.

Prospects are always hit or miss regardless how fans view the development process our organization has. But this isn't James Hagen vs Gabe Perrault, this becomes are two Gabe Perrault's/James Hagen's better than one? We may have lucked out with grabbing Gabe later in the first round but that isn't always the case.

When you look at the pipeline, this team is not a top 10 prospect pool team anymore, they clearly need as many good pieces as possible, especially when you view where our core players are at. Swinging for home runs in the draft might not work out, but I do think we need higher end talent in our system, and drafting from the wild card spot - first round elimination doesn't help.

The tank people are delusional.

I said something similar in a past GDT that it just isn’t worth it for one’s own mental health.

Don’t get me wrong. I get why people want to blow up or want higher draft picks. I’m not here to scold anyone for it. I truly get it. But watching 40 something more games of bad hockey praying for losses in a league that uses a lottery system anyway is a sure fire way to melt your own brain.

I’d personally just stop watching and tune back in closer towards the end of the season.

So what are we supposed to do? Root for them to lose 40 games in a row? And we know they won't go on a 40 game losing streak either. People can't fathom rooting to lose like 5 games when it's obvious the season is going nowhere in the NFL and that's with no lottery. We're now supposed to do it with 40 games? I think anyone that can't root against a team for a few games in the NFL and judges people that do is a clown. But in an 82 game season this just doesn't seem practical unless you're a masochist.

I mentioned this the other day -- the last time people cheered hard for the tank was 2018-19.

The tank was relatively successful and we won 2nd overall in the lottery.

The best player taken after Jack Hughes went 12th (Boldy) and we could have had him at any spot we were realistically projected to finish in.

The Devils won Hughes in the lottery. The two teams worse than them didn't pick (Ottawa) and got Alex Turcotte (LA).

Losing a bunch didn't help anybody. Like, don't try to make the playoffs or God forbid buy; be in the mix. Beyond that, it's all piss in the wind.

I'm not on the tank train, mostly because I enjoy watching the Rangers play well and win short-term, but also because I don't think tanking is a good way of building a winning culture. However, with 21 games to go until the trade deadline, I don't mind a bad enough losing streak for the Rangers to be out of the running for the last wildcard spot. I don't want Drury giving up futures in some last ditch effort to get in, which I can easily see happening.

I fell asleep last night in period 3 since I am not used to this Eastern time bs.

Looks like the D fell asleep, too.

Housley, Laviollette, Drury all need to go. Doesn’t matter what order.

I know this is bad timing on my part after they scored 3 goals in the first, but with the 6 defensemen we are using, you can't continue to have 10 and 13 on the same line. Neither of them backcheck and there's always 2 open guys in our end when they are on the ice. Then both fly the zone leaving nobody to pass to. And if Vinny happens to lose his guy, it's like a shooting gallery.

No, you don't have to root for them to lose. But you can acknowledge that this is a bad hockey team that needs a lot of help in the prospect pool area, and that playing terrible while scraping by meaningless wins might not benefit the team. I don't think you need to actively root for them to lose, but rather watch and be content that losing those games might be for the best.

This team doesn't need to try and tank on purpose and shouldn't. They're pretty bad.
