Why he and Fox were broken up is astounding to me.
The Rangers scored like 60% of the goals with Miller and Fox on the ice together and the Rangers were just like

We could really use a monster Dman to own our crease like a Rod Languay, Chris Pronger or Barry Beck. Correct if Im wrong but I think Benn just manhandled our defenseman to give himself space for the game winner.

Yup. And Benn beat Vaakanain to the front of the net on the first goal. All day Dallas skated into the middle knowing they wouldnt get hit. The only guy who threw a hit there was Cuylle in the 3rd when he almost got Robertson.

Too bad Fox is playing 3 (or 4) games during the Feb break. He could have used the break. He does not look like he’ll make it to game 82…nearly out of gas.

I agree, and it isn’t even JUST putting the puck in harms way. Tonight, he didn’t even move the puck to a bad spot on the ice or something. He literally held on to it when he had 3-4 options for moving it quickly back up ice, and then after holding it for no reason, literally GAVE it to Dallas. Of all the places he could put the puck, he waited until Steel was feet away and then PASSED IT TO HIM. I know (assume) he was trying to pass it THROUGH him… but WHY THE f*** would you try to pass it THROUGH the lone forechecker when you have literally infinite other places you can aim that puck? And why did you wait until that forechecker was 6 feet away when you had the puck when he was 50 feet away? But I agree that he’s been the most disappointing as well because it’s not just that he’s been bad. It’s that there was so much potential and he’s still young and this was a season where things should have started moving consistently forward for him, development wise but he has regressed to literal mite level decision making.

He is the absolute perfect personification of tools but no toolbox.

This game is rock bottom in a normal season yet Laviolette is somehow completely safe. No one has any answers. Drury should have to come down and coach the team himself

I'd take all 3 of those guys right now over most of our current d-men.
I might take any of them over all of them. 2 are in the HOF and Bubba dominated his side of the ice for a few years in his prime. We just seem so soft in our end. What bothers me is Im not sure if its the players, the D coach or both.

Both. Our guys are scared to take and give hits. Softest left side in the league by far and the right isnt much better.
