Mmmm so probably bowling and coffee/pizza or something. Those are the winners. I'm not gonna take her to a game and have her be terrified of me.

The easiest thing to do is just figure out what she likes to do and do that. If she likes playing pool, go play pool. If she likes bowling, go bowling. If she likes art, go to an art show. You get automatic interest for doing something she likes so she'll enjoy it, plus it's easier to plan something.

While this is no doubt sound advice, my personal experience is that women are pretty unwilling to even offer suggestions or hints as to what they want to do. A lot of them do this purposely and use it as a judge of the male's character or to see how much they have in common. A lot of them just don't like making decisions and will defer to the male as a rule (see: married couples trying to decide where to go out for dinner).

The best I've ever been able to get is a list of 2-3 things they absolutely don't like.

Source: I live with two single females & have been on 5-6 first dates in the last three months or so.

The information must be gained indirectly. Usually through keen observation.

I'm 18 too but yeah, same could be said about me, to her  Oh well. I did get out of her that she is more of a stay at home and stuff than go out to cities and such.

I'm not saying I do, but the date night.....

I paid $6.25 to see Skyfall. That was it.

Clock and I got out of the house Saturday night to watch a movie. 2 tickets and a few concessions and BOOM $40. Now that isn't a huge deal for us (especially since we rarely go out), but for a kid, that's outrageous. Add gas on top of that. Poor kids. We had it so good in the 90's.

Yeah, we were actually discussing it on the way back home from the theatre. I remember filling up my Neon for like 10 bucks (or thereabouts) when I was a kid working for 5.40 or whatever a hair above minimum wage was. That was considered a pain. Now minimum wage is 7.25 (about a 40% increase), but gas is about 3.5 times more expensive.

About three hours of minimum wage would fill up a 10 gallon tank back in the day. Now it would take somewhere between eight and ten. That sucks.

I'm not sure if the Regal on Transit is less busy now because of the emergence of the Galleria or the movie industry in general is hurting a bit, but it was pretty surprising to see how generally empty that place was given that it was a Saturday night at 7:30.

PS, "Warm Bodies" was an enjoyable movie if you have zero expectations for a "serious" zombie movie.

Spent most of the weekend either snowblowing or in Canada for my son's hockey tournament. Just got my end of year review. My rating got knocked down one (still not to turf territory) and there are a variety of backhanded compliments in it from a manager I barely reported to and who had no interest in managing me while I did report to her. I have to digest how I am going to respond.

Antacids popped. I'm taking my first cut at what I want to say and then I will leave it sit for a few hours so I can do my first revision. Second revision will likely have to be later tonight -- these things were due last week and I got the notice over the weekend.

My busy social life is getting busier.

And I cracked up when my ex thought I was dating a church group friend who came over Saturday to watch the Sabres game and to let her son play with my kids.
