Dahlin with a letter to Buffalo like Kyle Okposo did earlier.

We spent time after the game talking to Ryan and the other alumni who were there that night. They spoke about how it felt like there was nothing separating the ice from the stands during their playoff runs. The players and the fans were one, all working toward the same goal.

I speak for myself and my teammates when I say this: Buffalo, we are starting to feel it.

It's hard to describe what it feels like when KeyBank Center is full. I get chills thinking about the roar of the crowd every time we have a scoring chance. Or a big hit. Or a successful penalty kill. Honestly, the whole night feels like a power play.

It's like we are 19,090 strong - 20 of us in uniform, the rest of us in the stands. Together we are going to break the other team mentally. That's what it feels like.

I love that this team is finally starting to get the full Buffalo fan base experience. They’ve been told how great Buffalo fans supposedly are for years but mostly all they really got to see were 1/2 empty arenas where the crowd was so quiet you could often hear a pin drop.

They still have no clue though. Make the playoffs and they’ll see Buffalo fans in true full force!

I smiled throughout my reading of Rasmus' letter. I loved reading about how this team is connecting with the community and what it means to the team, that they consider each other brothers and that Rasmus is proud to call Buffalo home.

Have to say I fell goosebumps when he described a full Key Bank Center as 19,090 strong. That says it all.

I've said it before - I think this is a special time and this is a special team - and I'm really enjoying being a Sabres fan.

Go Sabres

Captain. Leader. My favorite Sabres draft pick. The highest rated d I've ever scouted. My favorite player. My first ever authentic jersey (goathead!!!)

Rasmus Dahlin has a chance to be the best draft pick the Buffalo Sabres have ever made.

I'm probably going on Wednesday now...if Dahls asks...I gotta be there...

This makes me incredibly happy to read. I'm old enough to remember going to the Aud, where you felt essentially like you were on the ice and watching the Sabres beat a really good Chicago team and just feeling every ounce of energy in that building. The players fed off of it and the fans fed off of each other. It's so different in the new building, but I absolutely love that the fans are giving them the same energy that the Aud Sabres got as well as the mid-2000's Sabres got as well. Once this team is contending, that city will be cooking!

Awesome to read. I am starting to believe in this team. The only thing missing is Rick Jeanerette

My new screensaver.

It worked. I bought tickets.

The pandemic hasn't helped

That pretty much sums up my general Sabre Fan experience (1970 - today) except for the Rigas, Quinn and GMTM/Botts years.

Nicely done Rasmus. We're starting to believe too!

Maybe a bit of wishful thinking...but perhaps he gives us a hometown discount on his next deal?

In the back of my mind, I have thought for a bit that the Thompson and Samuelsson deals pave the way to them at least asking Cozens and Dahlin who are also close with one another to take a smidge less so they can keep 'em all together. Now, how much or even if it can come to pass... *shrug* But it's something I wonder about.

1999 was great. So was 1975. 2005 was close. But it all started for me in 1973. That year and specifically the Montreal Series wins made me believe (before that year it was pretty much all Bills). Fond, fond memories.
