Let´s be honest here. Bedard ain´t Crosby or McDavid kind of talent even he had generational junior career.
What does this even mean?

Who had a better junior career, Bedard or Mike Bossy? Bossy never scored less then 70 goals a year outside his first.

Did Mike Bossy have a "generational " junior career?
And this is GM´s fault..like how?
Who built the team?

I was told thru the media about "compete" was a key trait Davidson looks for, yet there's very little compete in this team outside the kid slamming his stick against whatever out of frustration.

I'd rather have Bedard taking shots instead of scrubs like Donato. I might be in the minority on that, I guess.....

Bedard isn't the kind of player who can go end to end, take on an entire team by himself and come away with a scoring chance. Bedard is the kind of player who will dominate if he has other great players to play with and off of. He has elite IQ, vision and stick handling, but he needs to play with people who can match some of those skills. He has no one who comes even close to that now.

Put him with another great player and he'll be in the running for league leading point getter. Hawks need to find that running mate. Bedard is like a Sedin who is missing a Sedin.

This season is even more of a throw away than last season IMO. They need that #1 pick more than ever. Only path I see to contending is to get another elite forward. Hawks already screwed that up last year with Celebrini, don't make the same mistake with Hagans.

Agree with everything except for your point about last year. I mean they finished second to last, they didn’t screw anything up.

I’d also be shocked if they get the number 1 overall pick next year. I certainly hope they do but I’ll only be disappointed if they’re drafting 4th or later.

If you look at all those team Canada highlights, Bedards team mates did nothing but get the puck to Bedard. His team mates knew the kid was wired differently.

Here, in the NHL, you have scrubs like Donato taking shots instead of passing it to the guy drafted to be a game breaker.

Until Bedard is surrounded by a team that will accept their roles for the betterment of the team to win games, and you get a GM who understands exactly what Bedard is, what you see now is what you're going to get.

>>Bedard is like a Sedin who is missing a Sedin.<<

That's pretty spot-on. Bedard is amazing, esp at 19. Just not a top elite player. He needs a very good player with him. TT is not enough. TB not even close.

Though I don't think picking 1st, second or third in the upcoming draft is going to matter much. We need a player with some experience already. Take advantage of how Toronto is treating Marner and offer him something for next year. I think Bedard would do very well with him.

I thought they screwed up by not finishing dead last. There were opportunities to do that and the Hawks passed. I remember a game vs San Jose where San Jose gave the net to some kid making his NHL debut and Hawks responded with Marazek. That's what I'm talking about.

agree 100%. Guys who are out there with Bedard need to be completely focused on getting him the puck at all times. Instead we have clowns like Donato and Jones who shoot the puck every time they touch it and don't even so much as look in 98's direction.

I think you’re underestimating just how bad San Jose was last year.

The Hawks at any given time were icing like 6 AHLers in a single NHL game. They just go out-tanked.

This has happened many times to a lot of teams...co.e back froma long road trip and stink the kointboutvim the 1st game back at home.. maybe if you are an elite contender you do that less than a bottom ten team ,but it happens.. Hawks stuck..looked slow and unfocused ...lost to battle races to loose pucks and puck battles and the rssukt speaks for itself.. Mrazrl dod not have a wall game to bail them out...still the attack was putrid...the po a mess..poirxentries..Hawks just did nitcshowvup.

Not song the 1st game back after long road trip is any excuse for a poir effort, but even better coaches than LR have had teams do that to them.
But it is not on the coach...entirely players responsibility to show up and play their A game both individually and team-wise.

Justcanotger sign this team is very limited and in a lower bottom feeder bracket again ..

Inconsistency willbe tge mark alk season.

Talent can sonetines bail out a team giving a poirxefgort ..but the Hawks are not deep in talent nor is Mrazek a Vezina candidate.. His save% this season not that good.

It was a stinker from the Hawks...forget it and move on..

If they do another no show next game ,win or lose, then get the TanK for Martine chants gp to full roar!

Then let the fire KD chants start to percolate.

Then ask what goid is a 12 staff analytics dept costing g that much doing for this team?

Tgen ask what is the spiets psychologist/mental staff doing for this team?

Then ask IF Bedard does nothing again next game, time for a benching example.

You cannot have the "stars" of line1 of the opps star agIbst your team when your line 1 guys do nothing.

At least not 2 games in a row.

So message to Hawks akkeges stars..SHOW up and dictate,a 2nd MIA in a row will not be locked on kindly.

Which is funny considering here you have a kid with a lethal shot, yet he's been regulated to setting up scrubs on account of this team is filled with "me first, my stats over winning" guys.

It doesn't make sense.

Davidson brings in Tuevo, Tuevo can't play with Bedard. Brings in Hall, Hall can't play with Bedard. Bertuzzi can't, Seth is only out there for himself now, Korchinski doesn't have NHL talent, etc, etc, etc.

I would bet money if Colton Dach was on Bedards wing, Bedard starts scoring goals.

Just an observation.....

yea I don't see anyone on the current roster who can play with Bedard. If I squint I can kinda see Reichel filling that role better than anyone else on the current roster.

Kurashev did an admirable job last year, but he's been terrible this season.

Reichel and Bedard are too much of a liability in their own zone to be a combo. Third wheel doesn’t even really matter at that point since they aren’t dominate possession wise to overcome that.

many people are way too caught up on the pre-draft "generational" hype.
I'm impressed with his CHL numbers and how great he did at the WJC but ultimately he's in the NHL now playing against grown ass men and he's going to have to learn to translate his skillset to the big league.

He thinks the game very well that much is sure. It's too early to tell but at least for now he's not going to be able to carry a team on his own. Maybe he is too small to ever do that, idk.

D-cat goal...off a Larkin rush...Vlasic sees it xonoing yeast Murphy to cover D-Cat Murphy hardly moves to do what he shoukd have done...Larkin dishes to open D-Cat and Mrazek fails to stop shot...To me bungled defebsive awareness and slow reaction by Murphy and a fail by Mrazek to get to best stopping anfle..

Might have stopped that goal.

On the Larkin goal ...after a long shift t,Phillips caught fkat-foited by streaking Larkin...not much hope stopping that goal unless Mrazek pulls a Sheltering or Hellebuyuk level stop..whoch of course he cannot.
So not preventable except by a fantastic goaliexsave whoch did not materialize.

3rd Detroit goal was a lucky bounce for Veleno off Aljan....lucky bounce for Wings.. what can you do?

4t goal an en goal..

Worse tgat the 4 that went in agaibst the Haws was the lack of Hawks offebse.

Horrible entries...killed Hawks Pps...And also stymied effectivev5x5 attacks.

Hawks botched their transition rishrs ...again unlike Detroit do d not score off these when the opportunities came..

One example...Vlado c with speed gains the o-zone with 2 wingers speeding to the net with hom...instead of shooting to score or getca rebound ;he defers wit h a pass attempt to Tt..pass gets deflecyedxawU by Detroit dman..He had a clear path shot in the cebter slot and deferred by pasding=IF there is a criticism of LR he needs to point out tobtgese guys...shoot the puck especially in clear labe situations ..

But Vlasic not the only one doing this...Bedard needs to run sh up the middle more and just fore...maybe he can score but if not his wingers gotta crash the net for rebounds.

Hawks guilty of trying t o be cute passing globetrotters 3 way passing pretty plays..but thecreality is they have to be more basic and lunchpail..Create chas ...fire from the middlecand crash that net ..T he Haeksxate not the Leafs that can make those 3 andv5vtpucj passing then perfect open shot goals.

When the Hawks get a chance..fire it on net ...and be selfish..do not defer to a team-mate with a worse shooting angle or where avpass coukd be intercepted or deflectrcboutbof harm's way..

If thevooos design told e up 4 on the bluelinebontgeir PK and dare you to shoot it in and chase..you had better quit trying to stock-handle entry ..Don't itbin...win the race to loose puck...or win puck boatd battle then take it o r pass it into chaos in the crease area.

Hawks guilty of not belaying smart basic hockey.

Players and coaches do not tank. This just beyond stupid. What if they finished dead last in 2023 and picked second?

Who built the team?

Who tried to get Jake Guentzel? This rebuild thing has just started. It takes time when you start from the scratch.

What does this even mean?

Who had a better junior career, Bedard or Mike Bossy? Bossy never scored less then 70 goals a year outside his first.

Did Mike Bossy have a "generational " junior career?

If you didn´t hear the hype you must be living under a rock. Bedard must be one of the most hyped junior player ever. He was considered as generational talent by many. Who cares what I or other think about Bossy´s junior career? Different era and different society.

If something I think it is the fans who are worst of all here.
