What does this even mean?Let´s be honest here. Bedard ain´t Crosby or McDavid kind of talent even he had generational junior career.
Who built the team? And this is GM´s fault..like how?
Yup, probably celebrating too much.Maybe they had election hangover like many of us.
Bedard isn't the kind of player who can go end to end, take on an entire team by himself and come away with a scoring chance. Bedard is the kind of player who will dominate if he has other great players to play with and off of. He has elite IQ, vision and stick handling, but he needs to play with people who can match some of those skills. He has no one who comes even close to that now.
Put him with another great player and he'll be in the running for league leading point getter. Hawks need to find that running mate. Bedard is like a Sedin who is missing a Sedin.
This season is even more of a throw away than last season IMO. They need that #1 pick more than ever. Only path I see to contending is to get another elite forward. Hawks already screwed that up last year with Celebrini, don't make the same mistake with Hagans.
If you look at all those team Canada highlights, Bedards team mates did nothing but get the puck to Bedard. His team mates knew the kid was wired differently.Bedard isn't the kind of player who can go end to end, take on an entire team by himself and come away with a scoring chance. Agree with everything except for your point about last year. I mean they finished second to last, they didn’t screw anything up.
I’d also be shocked if they get the number 1 overall pick next year. I certainly hope they do but I’ll only be disappointed if they’re drafting 4th or later.

Here, in the NHL, you have scrubs like Donato taking shots instead of passing it to the guy drafted to be a game breaker.
Until Bedard is surrounded by a team that will accept their roles for the betterment of the team to win games, and you get a GM who understands exactly what Bedard is, what you see now is what you're going to get.
I thought they screwed up by not finishing dead last. There were opportunities to do that and the Hawks passed. I remember a game vs San Jose where San Jose gave the net to some kid making his NHL debut and Hawks responded with Marazek. That's what I'm talking about.
Which is funny considering here you have a kid with a lethal shot, yet he's been regulated to setting up scrubs on account of this team is filled with "me first, my stats over winning" guys.agree 100%. Guys who are out there with Bedard need to be completely focused on getting him the puck at all times. Instead we have clowns like Donato and Jones who shoot the puck every time they touch it and don't even so much as look in 98's direction.

It doesn't make sense.
Davidson brings in Tuevo, Tuevo can't play with Bedard. Brings in Hall, Hall can't play with Bedard. Bertuzzi can't, Seth is only out there for himself now, Korchinski doesn't have NHL talent, etc, etc, etc.
I would bet money if Colton Dach was on Bedards wing, Bedard starts scoring goals.
Just an observation.....
Without looking up how many U.S. citizens are on the hawks?Yup, probably celebrating too much.
I'm impressed with his CHL numbers and how great he did at the WJC but ultimately he's in the NHL now playing against grown ass men and he's going to have to learn to translate his skillset to the big league.many people are way too caught up on the pre-draft "generational" hype.
