I don't think they need to make "big" moves. They just can't trot out mostly trash to play with him again next year. They need to start trying to improve things a little more. Year 3 of the rebuild should start to see the team improving to outside the bottom 7-8 teams in the NHL.

there's no reason to worry about bedard leaving at this juncture is all i was saying. you don't have to be worried about his contract status in six years to conclude that it would be ideal for the team to get better players in that time span.

It's all relative. They're a bottom team again this year but they aren't getting a belt to bottom whooping every single night. That's a lot less demoralizing than last season was. Calgary had pick 7 this year and they had 81 points. That's a world of difference from where the Blackhawks were. It won't be the end of the world if that's where the team is at next year.

And for the billionth time, Bedard isn't going anywhere.
