Most everything I hear involving the Rangers so far has me nervous, so I'll be happy once this deadline is over. Hopefully nothing major done today.

DeBrusk for Chytil is probably seen as a change of scenery move.

I'm not saying I agree with that, I'm just saying the parties are probably looking at it that way.

Not that I am behind a Chytil/Debrusk swap, but Chytil is hardly a center anyway. I still see him as more of a winger in the NHL and he hasn't done much to prove otherwise.

I don't see this team moving on from Chytil yet.

Unless he's bringing back another Center.

the reason is the prices other teams are paying for older players without term. why shouldnt they up their ask when chariot got what he did and a player like hagel lands two 1sts. it is smart by armstrong.

it isnt a buyers market, it is a sellers market. teams want playoff gates and a lot of teams are going for it.
Because Hagel had a very good season on a very bad team, only makes 1.5 million for the next three years and is an RFA without arb rights at the end of his contract.
In contrast, Chychrun is having a bad season on a very bad team, makes almost 4 times that amount for the same amount of time (and then gains an M-NTC after next season), and is a UFA at the end. Not a great comparable.

The point I was making is the price on these players usually goes up if they continue to have a good season, and he hasn't. I get the UFA picks thing, but the Hagel example doesn't work.

if chytil is dealt my guess is vancover as part of a deal for miller or garland. i dont really see him going to a rival at this point.

what are debrusk's new terms? i would like to add him but not at the cost of chytil

Thank god Linda Cohn isnt our GM… she is on NHL sirius and these are the players she would include in a trade for JT Miller. Note obviously not all at once, but she would he ok parting with.

Chytil
Schneider
Kakko
Lafreniere

However she would not trade KA Miller.

How the f*** is she on the radio?

I mean, Miller seems to be more of a proven entity at this point and eats up minutes so losing him would be much more devastating than any of the others. But obviously I'd prefer to give up none of those players

2 years @4mill

feel like chytil maybe needs a fresh start and he doesnt really fit a 3rd line but not for debrusk that would be awful

He could continue to improve and play 2nd line next year...

The fact that there's not even a whiff of Strome extension talks means something's up.

look at what d men are signing for, 30 year old d men. chychurn is done with the yotes, it is clear. based on the deals flying around his contract is a value, he has term, and he is easily worth two 1sts and a quality roster player. would I pay that, no. but nhl gm's are showing that they are willing to trade a lot of futures and pay. the kings are a perfect team for this deal.
