Jets talked to the Avs about Justin Barron but couldn't get it done so they went to Drury and got Morgan Barron instead.

I’m surprised the org soured on Barron so quickly, but it sorta feels like the writing was on the wall for him when he couldn’t crack the lineup and they weren’t sending him to Hartford.

So Copp and a 6th for Barron, conditional #2 that becomes a #1 if yhe Rangers reach the EC finals and he plays 50% of the playoff games, either NYR #2 this year or next year, and a 5th

Feels like a lot to give up for a rental. This looks better if we resign Copp.

All in all, I don't think anything we gave up is going to be too costly. Looking forward to trade deadline in 2028 where we're trying to reacquire Barron cause this team could really use a guy like him

Knew it would be Barron. Not surprised. Not bothered. It’s a good deal for the Rangers.

Big price for Copp if he is a pure rental considering the landscape of the playoff teams in the East

Hope we re-sign him to a reasonable deal

Still overall a good day for Drury but not sure how to feel about the Copp move. Barron was supposed to be a long term bottom 6 (possible center solution).
Obviously if we make the conf finals the first round pick isn't that great anyway (29th or worse) so glad the condition was put on the first.

The team's bottom 6 is all of a sudden very good if GG actually plays the best players. Still expecting to see McKegg and Reaves both out there every game.

I think this was a very good deadline. Drury improved the forward depth immensely and added a solid veteran D man who's advanced stats still look very good. He didn't didn't give up any of our top 5 prospects and if the pick for Copp becomes a first, I think we all will be happy they made the conference finals. Very good job by him.

If they make the ECF, and have to give up the first rounder, it becomes pick 29 minimum.

Barron showed nothing in his extremely limited time in the NHL, he's already 24 in December, this might be Drury getting out on him before he has no value at all, and is just looked at as an AHL player.
