Guy is good defensively and can PK. He is an offensive black hole though. For a 3rd, while I would have preferred a 4th is not the end of thr world.

He might be the best goalie on their roster now. He is 25 and should be cheap for the next few years. They can also trade Reimer now as well. I really like Middleton as a bottom pair defenseman, but a lot less as a middle pair guy. They got themselves a potential starting goalie that is young for a bottom 4 defenseman. I think that is fair value, especially if this allows them to trade Reimer for something decent.

Agreed that he's very possibly their best goalie now, whether Reimer stays or not; I just don't see San Jose as a playoff team anytime soon. The value looks pretty fair, but I think they should be targetting futures a bit harder.
