Well Patty Kane is a HOF Uber-elite superstar so that's different. Johnny gaudreau fits my definition as an offensive superstar, easily. Guys had monster seasons.
Okay we use different definitions. I don’t think there’s anything above superstar. Maybe living legend like McDavid or Gretzky.
Do you think matvei michkov is closer to Patrick Kane or Johnny Gaudreau? This is important to understand as well.
I have no idea! His pre-draft profile seemed like his upside was crazy, and his shooting skill is pretty much breathtaking. On the other hand, he doesn’t have a great frame and he isn’t strong in general or on the puck.
I am 100% convinced that a team that drafted a defenseman #5 overall is hoping that player eventually ends up on that list as a 25 minute playoff performer. I really don't see how one could think otherwise?
I think the issue is their maximum upside vs likeliest outcome. That’s been the underlying debate all along. You’d take Kucherov over Hamhuis and Josi over Gaudreau.

Anyway the exciting thing is that we will see a lot more of both in a few months.

Dude. You obsessively and disingenuously bashed, ridiculed and made fun of OUR OWN #1 overall pick daily for over 1.5 years when he was 18 years old and brand new to North America.

I did this for sure, still do. Am I eligible for an award yet?

Offensive super start maybe. But he would not be a guy i would build a team around and not a good i would go to war with. In fact i would not touch Gaudreau with a 100 feet pole for any reason.

I come on this thread to read about David Reinbacher. Why don't you all consumed with Michkov switch the conversation to the out of town thread? Who gives a f*** about Michkov?
Was this the Texan part of you?

It is literally crying over spilled Milk..
I can understand the Michkov talk before the pick was made..
But I can't understand still freaking out about it after the fact..

Last thing I want to do is read about Flyers prospects.

Now that michkov is coming over in a few months there will be a lot of attention on reinbacher. A little unfair as they are totally different players and play a different position but it will be there. A lot wanted michkov to be the pick at 5 for mtl
Until torts put him in the stands due to bad work ethics , or gives him a washing during a presser

How reliable is Scott Wheeler? This is what he has to say on Reinbacher as a prospect vs this year’s crop:

>>I'm higher on all five of Levshunov, Buium, Parekh, Dickinson and Silayev. Reinbacher would be closer to where I have Yakemchuk.

He's not reliable at all. Not anymore than the average poster on the draft thread or boards.

For example, he had Moritz Seider 35th, which was a completely ridiculous ranking even without hindsight.

There's a lot of politics on KHL teams apparently. So I'm not sure why he didn't "make" the team and/or why he was loaned out.
I agree there can be a lot of politics involved or can we call this corruption among khl teams. However, MM played with the most sh**tty team, not playing 200 feet, didn't play any group play because he was stucked with the worst players. Not the perfect developpment team for him. Do some offence for yourself and wait the year is finished. He probably was bored.

With SKA, he would had the best teamates and challenge.

Reinbacher played in the KHL?

I am so sick of hearing about Matvei Michkov especially on a Habs board. He is a Flyers prospect in case some of you were not aware.
