Would it be a mistake if he gets called up post deadline if say Savard is traded? Should he remain in Laval no matter what?
Tough call. If we can’t get an upgrade on Savard then why not give him a look.

If Guhle (sort of), Hutson and Xhekaj can bypass the AHL—I don’t see why Reinbacher can’t get a call up.

I’m sure he’d be better than Savard. Hopefully he can take a bit of a leap down there where it makes a call up feel more inevitable but wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a call up

I think the smart play if Savard is traded would be to bring Mailloux up and allow Reinbacher to continue playing 20+ minutes a night to hopefully include a long playoff run.
With all that said....Savard isn't being traded imo.
I'll have to disagree on the Mailloux bit. I would never call up a lesser player when my team is pushing for the post season. David Reinbacher would be starting at 15:00 minutes which would be more valuable than anything he's doing in Laval. I do agree we aren't moving Savard. I'm convinced we aren't signing him next season but he probably hangs with the team in some capacity if that is what he wants.

Like is mobility, his feet are constantly moving. Great offensive reads, physical, what is there to not like about this guy. Will need to play the gap differently in the big show, but I’m not worried. This kid seems to be a sponge; one month with the coaching staff and his teammates in Mtl and he will adapt.

Gem à l’état brut. But a gem.

And people should not forget he was in the Habs team environment the whole year, NHL video training, etc.

He’ll be forcing you to hang out in the bathroom during a game in no time!

I get the feeling that with his high hockey iq, being injured and spending all this time around the big club, it helped him a lot with understanding the North American game.
Now he needs game action and competition

I think Reinbacher is the better player right now but let's face it...he has missed 6 months and has played 5 games. Give him time.

Glad to see he gets to play some games this year. Will be exciting to possibly have both Demidov and Reinbacher on the team next year.
