That's sad, he's such a shy quiet guy too, I heard he didnt even really know if he was invited or supposed to show up to the habs Halloween party until ghule gave him a resounding yes.

ALOT has happened since we passed on michkov for him and for those of us who don't yet appreciate or understand what an integral piece of the core this guy can and likely will be, you gonna see, lol. Perry was shy quote guy and had a massive impact.

Regardless I hope and very much believe when he steps on the ice at the bell centre for a regular season game for the first time back from injury he will get a roaring applause as an apology for how rough we've all been on him and I hope to be there.

Hope he plants michkov into the bench too 😂

I mean the kid got death threat, his dad got death threat and his girlfriend got death threat... and for what? Because he had the audacity to get drafted by the Canadiens instead of some other dude and some mouth breathers have misplaced anger issues.

It's pretty easy to rationalize Marchand on ice douchebaggery, because you kind of expected it from a player on the opposite side. Entitled Rando on the internet wanting you dead because "you're not their pick" would come as a shock for most people, because it just doesn't make much sense.

I see him as a good player at both ends of the rink, but not a star

Jeff Petry style #2/3

Despite his decent offense he will never be driving the play offensively, and despite his decent defense he will still looks lost at times in the defensive zone

I see Reinbacher turning into a Lidstrom-type player, who tilts the ice at both ends, is a perennial candidate for the Norris and Hart Trophies, and complements two generations of Cup-contending cores that include multiple stars. His assets will be high IQ, good skating, strength, positioning, and passing. People will look back on the 2023 draft and ask why Reinbacher didn't get picked higher.

We have some people claiming Reinbacher to be a mid-tier prospect,

Then you have those who hail him to become akin to the top 5 best D-man in NHL history.

This will certainly be interesting to follow.

it's social media's fault, I heard that players from Team Canada were getting death threats for losing, what kind of f***ing piece of shit coward would even think about doing something like this. Makes me sick to think there's that many losers out there.

His best asset is his transition game so yes, he is able to drive play to help go up the ice.

Do you think he projects as an elite shut down defenseman?

Watch some of his past games, he’s mobile but he still gets beat a lot

Petry is a perfectly reasonable comparable but you can go ahead with your Lidstrom cringe

Actually one of the most tone deaf posts I’ve ever seen on here, do you think anyone here does anything besides guessing?

Why the need to call out my assessment as guess work? Doesn’t that apply to literally every post here/ made on this site throughout history?

The issue is that people shouldn't make precise judgments on players they've barely watched or have not watched at all.

It's a constant cringe need some have to prognosticate and to feign expertise where they have none. In those cases it would be better for posters to say nothing or to ask questions. Most of the present-day analysis that Reinbacher is a "bust" is entirely due to him having a minor injury, which isn't actually analysis, it's just cope.

As for Hamrlik and Petry, those would inherently be tone-based comparisons as those two players had massive variations in their careers. Tone is required to interpret an otherwise unexplained comparison to either one. Both players had very high highs and very low lows, and that's why the meaning of a comparison to Hamrlik depends on the person writing it.

Hell, a lot of posters admittedly don't even watch the games or half of them, only some periods, etc and still make half assed judgments on said games. It's a huge problem around here and it's just spewing bullshit and negativity.

You can watch the games and it’s still a guess

My assessment is based on watching him play. He does not show #1 defensive d-man abilities. He is mobile and should be good at defending 1v1, but he still looks lost at times because if you play a lot of man coverage you’re going to get beat by elite skill sometimes, and his balance isn’t great right now

Also Petry was a top 5 player for us for many seasons

And keep telling on yourselves guys because nobody who has seen Reinbacher play (a rare occurrence, I know) thinks he is rock solid defensively right now
