Hopefully, Laval goes on a long playoff run, and he manages to play 30-40 games (reg + playoffs), and he looks good enough so that we can pencil him to the NHL lineup for next season.

Hutson - Matheson
Guhle - Carrier
Xhekaj - Reinbacher
That's the dream , jimmy

Matheson must be turned into a real RD1 before its too late tho

But I can see them try to give RD3 to Reinbacher next year if Mailloux is traded in the summer or something

Curious about when his Entry Level Contract expires. I'm under the assumption that he signed for three years:
2023-24 played 11 games in Laval
2024-25 let's assume he plays a few games towards the end of the season
Does that make him eligible to sign a new contract on July 1st for 2026-27 and beyond?

Puckpedia shows his current contract going until the end of 2026-27. I'm assuming that's accurate but I'm not sure why. Does the 11 games in Laval simply bump the contract 1 year because no games were in the NHL?

ELC contract slide for 18-19 year old players who didn't play 10 NHL games. He also has 5 years from his signing at 18 and 160 NHL games of waiver exemption.

Guys don't worries about Reinbacher's knees.
The medical technology to replace or repair a knee is nuts now indays.
They end up with a better knee after the surgery, look at Monahan and Dach.
The only thing that sucks is that he lost a full year of not playing,, sets him back a bit.
I still have faith in Reinbacher, he still can end up being the best D of the draft.
Is this sarcasm about the better knee lol, Dach has the worst agility in the league

Someone forgot about Carey Price's knee lmao

There is nothing in the orthopedic field that can repair the knee with proper hyaline cartilage. Most for fibrocartilage and it's not same density or strength. So the stress that hockey players put onto their knees will overpower that weak cartilage (let alone if collateral or cruciate ligaments are affected). It's chronic and the more they put stress on them, the more they develop osteochondral lesions and marrow edema (bone swelling) and so forth. So no, there are no better knees yet. It's TKA awaiting.

If no cartilage damage, prognosis is definitely better.

Damn, he's going hard. Are there videos of him doing agility drills? I didn't think he'd be this far along already. Has there been an official timeline set for the kid yet....Laval in a couple weeks/month?
At the time of the surgery, the timeline was 5-6 months, so February-March. Looking at him there, he's on track for February, but he will probably take 1-2 weeks of practices before seeing the ice still.

The lateral movement are probably the ones that will take some time. You may have noticed his crossovers in the previous video were done somewhat gingerly. When we see him able to skate the circle backwards and forwards both ways at full tilt he's close.

I've torn my ACL a couple of times. The first time lots of physio and it went mostly back to normal. The second time I had arthroscopic surgery to remove some cartilage that was blocking it and, even with physio, it's never really been good since. I had surgery a while back, with a surgeon who worked on the Leafs, but I'm sure I didn't get the same surgery a pro athlete would have gotten, and I'm sure it has improved since. Even so knee injuries are not a good thing.

It's not like every pro with a serious knee injury loses a step, like with Koivu, but it's not better after the surgery than it was before the injury.
