We have no number one defenseman now or projected for the future. Ghule is a second-pairing defenseman, Reinbacher projects as a bottom-pairing defenseman, Hutson may become a number one, but that's highly doubtful due to deficiencies in his game that would prevent him from following the path of players like Makar and Fox, and after than we have a handful of 6/7 defensemen like Xhekaj and Struble.

Matheson is not the answer for our top four given that he'll be aging out by the time that we're actually competitive in three or four years.
Guhle is definitely not a 2nd pair D and you're being incredibly down on Reinbacher for no reason.

The rebuild is not over.

I think the injury to Laine might be a blessing in disguise.

In the sense that, the tank is back on for sure?

The rebuild isn't over because Hughes refuses to end it. Instead of adding talent he's okay wasting prime years of his core to draft the next flavor of the week instead of generational talents.

We're not ready at all.

What talent do you wanna add that would get us out of the rebuild?

Losing a potential 25-30 goal scorer that solidifies your second line, add options to the PP, and brings excitement back to the Bell Center is not a blessing.

What, we get to see more of Roy or some other scrub next to Dach. Lose 20 more 1 goal games, I'm feeling blessed.

A RD. Larsson is ready to be dealt.

A top 9 forward. Robertson could've been that guy for free but we're scared.

Were ready to start competing for the POs. This team is good but the bad is so bad that it's dragging us down.

I don't think we're as good as you think we are
We only as good as the weakest players. Right now there's so much shit on this roster dragging the good player down. Every second Anderson isn't on the ice is a massive win. Same for Gally.

Acquiring players means these guys don't hurt your team as much. That's huge.

The more and more I look at the injury or sequence if you will
It could be a knee cap sort of thing , I'm reminded of that mahomes injury that one time

Fractured or displaced knee cap
Not a world ender but, still a bit of time off sadly

Let's see, pretty damn curious if it's not a blown ACL

How are we wasting prime years of our core when our core has not even hit their stride yet??

What generational talent was up for grabs with our pick that we passed on?

What does flavour of the week even mean?

Do you follow the Habs? He added Laine after not being willing to overpay for the likes of McGroarty and Zegras. He added Laine because he could get him for nothing. AND even if he is a dud he got a high 2nd out of it.

Man, this injury really bums me out. I was going to go watch him a bunch of times in Laval. He has a lot of things that makes Ekblad such a great defenseman. Hope it isn't a season ending injury. He can't miss a whole seasons worth of development time.

Hughes gets Laine a month ago, he gets hurt on a freak play and this guy is instantly on him crying about not adding talent.

You can't make this shit up.

to be fair he's talking about the team as a hole, the signings have been underwhelming. Bergy's contracts do make it next to impossible to get rid of Anderson, Gallgher we all know this.

Do you think Laine was enough or do you need me to list the great talent we have on the 3rd line?

Suzuki, Cole, Guhle, Newhook, heck even Slaf are all pretty much primed. Players don't peak at 29, they peak at ~24. At 29 well have 2-3 years before they're yet another Gallagher we wish we didn't resign.

He missed a few weeks at the start of last year for some pain in a knee. So this will be 2nd as far as I know.

So there's this one...

A third knee injury...nothing to say honestly, speechless

Yeah, see... I'm not the only one remembering this.
