So is the RD going to be Barron, Mailloux and Reinbacher for the playoffs?

I know Hughes said that he won't play with the Habs this season, but if Laval is out of a playoff spot next month, I don't see why we shouldn't give him a game just so he can see what the NHL is like. Laval plays on April 13th and the next game isn't until the 19th. The Habs last game is on April 16th playing the Wings on a back to back. That's enough time to get a practice or two after the game on the 13th, play on the 16th, and then get back on the 19th. I don't think it's a big deal either way, but getting an NHL game before the summer to have a better understanding on what it's like could be useful.
Having his contract slide a year might be more advantageous.

And that contest was fixed. He was a radio guy in Granby, not an amateur at all, and had a good friend of his as a CKAC station manager.
I remember in his early days at CKAC (not sure if the "contest" was over yet) he spent days leading a Timmins bashing campaign because he had drafted McDonagh over Esposito, Pacioretty over David Perron and Subban over Keven Veilleux.
Of this group, of course Perron had himself a career but Lajoie clearly had no clue who McDonagh, Pacioretty and Subban were and screamed murder anyway.
Quite the scouting eye.

Who could've guessed Norlinder would be the one Houle takes out of the line-up!

Doesn't matter at this point but I wish sportsbook gave us odds on who would've been taken out, I would've made out like a bandit.
The odds would’ve been pretty bad. No one was surprised as Norlinder is generally piss poor. I’m surprised he didn’t take a return flight back to Europe once Reinbacher arrived!

People are clamoring to see a defensive defenseman?
We get it, you and others find the defensive side of the game hard to follow. It IS a tough game to really follow and understand.

I've seen the takes here on guys like Weber, and Danault....embarrassing level of analysis.

So ya, I would love for the team to have a true shutdown dman that can dominate possession, move the puck up ice, chip in offensively

Sounds like he'd fit in real well around here with that eye for talent.

What’s truly embarrassing is how some posters have to bash others to aggrandize their supposed superior hockey knowledge. Live and let live. Sheesh, this forum sometimes.
I was replying to a guy that was incredulous that some of us would be interested in watching a defensive defenseman play.

You went out to destroy the guy for having an opinion. He didn’t attack you. According to your prior post, your hockey knowledge is so superior over certain others since theirs are “embarrassing”.

You could have made the same point without making the guy sound like an ignoramus. It only discourages individuals from sharing their thoughts and ultimately it leads to just seeing the same opinions parroted by a more vocal segment, which is boring.

Let the contrarians say their piece. Should those in here who kept repeating ad nauseam that the Habs should not have selected Tkachuk and lauded KK, be drawn and quartered? Lots of self-styled experts in that lot too and they got it wrong. If anything, it’s a humbling exercise, you just never know.

OMG he lost an edge and ended up on his ass. I can't anymore. He's a disaster.

That's confirm that Moritz Seider is the best comparable for Reinbacher. They love lost edge and ended up on their ass.

With respect, those takes on Weber, Danault, and early this year Slaf, the horrible takes on Savard (for different reasons) made / make the board almost unbearable. This boards constant negativity absolutely discourages posters, the 20 or so loudmouths that constantly bash certain players and management run good ideas and thoughts off the board. You see it already in this thread - you don't have to be a Roger Neilson to appreciate the "other" side of the game.

So ya, I am going to push back on that, it's toxic. This a hockey enthusiast board, expecting members to at least understand that defensive hockey is an important part of the game isn't a huge stretch.

But your point is taken, I will be less aggressive, I guess I just get so annoyed with the loud voices (this fella probably wasn't one) drowning out legit hockey talk. Really wish there was more of a middle ground here but the culture of this forum is what it is and I wish more folks would push back, but I suspect they don't feel the effort is worth it, the loudmouths are winning.

Let's hope they can make the playoffs.

But it will be interesting to see if that's the right side of the dcore this weekend.
