Dude. DeAngelo had a f***ing meltdown over world events. This has nothing to do with Quinn, Gorton, or JD.

For real. These loose conclusions are starting to sound like a conspiracy. A guy known for being a strongly opinionated, mentally fragile asshole finally went off the handle as the world around him went to shit. Folks really need to just take it at face value and stop trying to point fingers at everything except for Tony.

I don't throw politics into the equation. When you're an a-hole, you're an a-hole, and Tony DeAngelo is an a-hole. And quite frankly, if you dont recognize and/or constantly defend the behavior he has exhibited his entire career, you're probably one too.

Personally I think you're full of shit and you do play politics.

Are you really that offended that he called someone gay in a derogatory way?
I'll put money on the fact that you have at some point as well.
We all have but now a days every one is pathetically sensitive.

There's an old saying.."Never judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.

But you just read a few articles off the internet and think you have it all figured out.

Let's nail this "kid" to the cross..

Maybe he takes his job personally.

I know I do..You want to know why?
It's because people's lives are on the line so when I have to leave on 3 hrs sleep, in the middle of a blizzard later to go repair a oxygen system, I'll think of you.

Damn right I take my job personally so I guess that must make me the biggest asshole on the planet..

both Lias and Krav had meltdowns in Hartford so they left too. The cap is a wreck, the team is juggling lines and benching players, etc. What is the direction?

Cap wise the Rangers couldn’t afford this mistake b/c they resigned everybody besides Fast.
I really don't see how you're equating the end of TDA to Lias or VK....

Lias Andersson warned of the environment here and we brushed it off because he sucks.

but if you still think Quinn is running a tight ship I don’t know what to tell you.

Something stinks

And let's not forget Kakko being critical of Quinn and saying he isn't comfortable playing his own style of hockey.

And Kravtsov complaining about miscommunication when he was on the team, and about being bullied.

At what point are we going to look beyond the players and point to the common denominator?

The people saying Quinn isn't the problem here probably also blame their 12 previous girlfriends for leaving them instead of looking in the mirror.

you can’t sign them all. This cap management is ridiculous.

Can’t not “do the right thing” for Hank
Resign Kredier after signing Trouba and Panarin
Strome is still here
ADa becomes dead money
Now we’ll want Buch
. . . and Zibby is on deck.

and then J.D. tells everybody to be patient and that the kids might not be ready to win. Well what about the army of vets tying up the cap? It’s ridiculous
No kidding that you cannot resign them all. And looking back with the benefit of hindsight must be pretty nice.

The cap management has been fine. No one on Earth was predicting Covid & Lafreniere.

As far as I'm concerned, Quinn's actions and long-term viability with the team are certainly fodder for argument - and that goes for every other young player whether they've faltered or flourished.

But when you bring DeAngelo into that argument, you lose me. I can't remember a player whose problems were so transparently self-inflicted. No coach is helping that guy.

I didn't mention DeAngelo

Very well. But those other examples as a shot at Quinn are like the equivalent of a sprained ankle or a scraped knee - things that happen when you're young - as opposed to the chemo therapy necessary to deal with TDA

When 3 of your last 4 top-10 draft picks have a problem with your coaching staff, and the 4th isn't exactly off to a great start, it would be foolish to just brush it off as "the player just isn't trying hard enough" or whatever excuse people come up with.

Re DeAngelo: This locker room certainly has issues. And it's fair to ask the question about how this affected players no longer on the team. Players who left due to personal issues.

While DeAngelo's own actions have caused this, it's perfectly reasonable to at least ask quesions on how this is part of a larger problem without considering it an excuse for DeAngelo's behavior

Nice attitude lol, only those without the foresight play the hindsight card. Meanwhile, Strome and ADA were resigned after Covid arrived while many were hoping to unload some vets at the deadline. The cap management has not been fine. Good lord

Maybe we have a coaching issue? Im definetly concerned we do seem to be out coached since the playoffs last year, something is not right here we all can see that.We will know by end of season But as far as Deangelo goes we move on I'm sure they will buy him out have read a few scenarios not sure on accuracy though on money hit.

sadly as a fan of tony the hockey player since his days in junior to here playing for the syr crunch and then to the nyr, i was hoping he would mature and calm down and just play hockey.

he couldn't just do it. this cost him a career. i aspect hell run for office now in new jersey. that seems to be his calling.

the election and recent events politically super charged him and his subsequent play on the ice was sub standard. he melted down and went after a teammate. thats a no go zone for me. they are your brothers your family and you dont attack them. you never lay hands on a loved one. (unless you are 10 yrs old)

too bad. über talented kid who went off the rails.

lastly, this is quinns team and that room has other issues not related to tony.

we may have rid our selves of a "cancer" but we also lost some serious talent not easily replaced by the likes of anyone we have waiting.

the team is in serious trouble

Won’t lay the problems of Tony at the feet of Quinn but I will say, what kind of a culture is developing under this coach? Seems like one of total and complete frustration and not one that is conducive to kids feeling comfortable to develop. As mentioned above, most of the young guys are speaking negatively about themselves, we’ve had 2 young players up and leave the organization, we’ve witnessed regression by most of the young guys minus maybe Buch and Chytil, we’ve witnessed horrific front office moves and we’ve experienced a meltdown. Kreider looks demoralized, Mica looks lost and disengaged, Breadman looks like he’s carrying the load but plays so soft, the goalies are getting abused and were facing 40 plus shots in years past. The team has 2 wins this season, the atmosphere is terrible, the grit is non existent, the optimism seems gone... how much more do we need to see here before we hand the reigns to a coach who will allow this group to thrive?

Get a coach who is predictable, honest with the system, clear with his expectations and has an established track record and watch this all turn around!

In what world is having a quarter of the cap in buyouts/dead money on a team most of the players in the league are dying to go play for at a discount "fine"?

I don't know how you can tell that ADA is an A-hole. Not saying he might not be one, but have you been around him long enough to know he is one?

Out on a limb, but it occurs to me that as the elder statesman on the roster and guys who had competed deep in the playoffs and SCF, Staal and Henrik were essentially player coaches for Quinn’s first two years. With them gone, that’s two assistant coaches who were helping him keep the ship afloat that are no longer around to help him. They may have covered up some warts in his ability to coach NHL systems and get the room motivated, even if their own play was declining.

Going out on a limb here, but punching one and then screaming at another to "F@@@ off" does not put you into a good light

I appreciate that! I just tell it the way I see it and yeah, perhaps I’m a little to brutal with my choice of descriptions but I’m just rooting for the team to improve— like we all are!

You know I’ve appreciated your support over the years too.
