Krejci might be declining, but if so it's from being the 4th best 2nd line center in the NHL to like the 7th best or something. If you say he's a 3rd line center you better show me 30+ 2nd line centers in the league who are outproducing him.

seriously.

what teams out there have a 3rd line center producing between 0.75 and 0.90 ppg every season?

I think Krejci slots right into a role for a playoff team lacking a center. he plays the 2 way game and has an incredible hockey IQ which makes his game translate well in his late 30s. Coyle is 3C maybe with his production
Still think that team is Colorado.

Don’t see the Bruins trading him. But do see Colorado adding a C at the deadline that’s capable of some offence.

My problem with Krejci isn’t production as much as body language

Bingo, I've gotten mocked for saying it before here, but if Krejci was a "dirt dog" and simply gritted his teeth or did whatever superficial "hustle" body language you want everyone would love him.

Ironically his "problem" is that he makes it look too easy to where some think he's dogging it

It even extends to the injuries he's played through or missed time for.

When Krejci is out its "here we go again, he cant stay healthy" or if he plays through it he gets blasted for "slumping"
When Bergeron is out its or if he plays hurt and looks bad its "what a warrior, look at all he soldiers through to help the team"

500 assists for DK now.

Since 06/07 David Krejci ranks
30th in Points
18th in Assists
13th in +/-

that's among ALL players in the last 15 years, no qualifiers, no exceptions, just pure rankings.

this is good, right? like...you wouldn't think he's one of the 30 top forwards in the last 15 years based on his treatment around here, but this all seems pretty top shelf to me.

bruins should have re upped him already, looks like hes gonna hit FA and will walk for no assets

Guy called the Hockey Show yesterday and said time to get rid of Krejci for a pick or something- it sounded like he was looking for confirmation but none of the hosts were having any of it. There was silence for a few seconds then they slammed him down like a fly.

I think he stays if money is there / let’s face it Bruins are one of few teams that will have it

I keep him and go get 1-2 young wingers (Garland fits like a glove across from Marchand; Forsberg going big/ Miles Wood) and a LHD ~ Ekholm if Nashville doesn’t deal him and protects him THEN you deal for with one year remaining and try and extend. Also, Calgary blows it up I’m sure you can revisit Hanifin. He’s been good but all things Ekholm works for the Bruins perfectly.

I bet he wants to stay, and the B's obviously need him, since he is clearly one of the team's three best offensive forwards and doesn't seem to have lost much yet. Not resigning him would signify a major rebuilding, which I don't think they are prepared to do just yet.

Anyone who thinks this guy should be traded or let go.........Just does not understand hockey. Stop wasting your time watching the sport....if you cant recognize greatness right in front of you...Hall of Famer.....no doubt about it.

100%. That's also the group who have wanted Rask shipped out of town for many years. If they even watch games, they don't understand the sport well enough to know what they are seeing. Fill that void with sensationalist Boston radio guys' takes.

Edit: missed the hall of famer part. I don't think that is happening.

I would trade him at the TD.

Trade him for a first, draft a big, gritty center with low offensive upside and play Coyle as 2nd line center for the next 4 years. That would fit Neely’s vision.

Or we could pick up RNH and hope he’s as productive with Smith and Ritchie as he is with McDavid and Draisaitl.

Trading Krejci means you’re blowing up the core because they’ll suck for years without him.

Okay trade Krecji at the deadline then what? How will you fill the #2 center position for the next 2-3 years?

And please dont say Barkov hes not leaving Florida
That’s the whole point. Get back assets because everyone overpays at the TD. In the off-season you can retool.

Your not blowing it up, your retooling. You can keep giving up picks every year at the TD. They get burned all the time. They don’t have the horses. The 1st line will be hacked like crazy and the rest can’t pick them up. If you can do a quick retool in the off-season, maybe you can rebound without hitting rock bottom. It’s not an easy move but a necessity at this point. Does Sweeney have the guts to do it.

So who will be our new 2nd line center?

Idk. I’m not the GM. This team is in a bad spot. They go for it, they waste assets, which they are very low on. They’ve given up quite a few picks over the years and your seeing the lack of prospects catching up with them. If they make themselves sellers, maybe they can get back something to work with to fill some spots. I don’t know how this years TD is going to be. They may not be able to do anything due to Covid. All I’m saying is they maybe spinning their wheels for a couple of years and still have to rebuild. The way the team is now, they don’t have a chance. Things get even tighter in the playoffs. I’m looking down the road a year, I get it.

You know, a team doesn’t have to buy or sell at the deadline.

You’re looking down the road but offer nothing besides trade the 2nd line center because the team isn’t doing great this year. How is trading Krejci and hoping you get someone better any different than buying at the deadline and hoping they make a run?

There must be some player out there you think would make a good replacement.

You are literally the person on this board who understands hockey the least. If anyone wants Krejci traded its because the team is playing shitty and he would bring in a decent haul. He is allowed to re-sign with the Bruins after the expansion draft.

I love Krejci but no he is not a f***in Hall Of Famer. Give your head a shake.
