But he does have connections with other front offices so he very likely knows who the front runner is.

Later in the interview he backtracked and said that CBJ has 5-6 offers and they're figuring out what they like best, doesn't sound like there's a front runner at all.

Ahhh. So why even say it’s not the Canucks? He’s a goof sometimes.

He's a generational hater.

He went on an Edmonton radio show in the playoffs to talk about how much he dislikes Vancouver, how the fans always want to brag about how rich they are, how everyone in the city has a certain "douche factor," while Edmonton fans are hard working blue collar beer drinkers that he likes to hang out with.

If we could get a similar level forward prospect for Jiricek I would be all for it. Not sure what some of these teams could even offer though. What could Edmonton even give?

You did it with Anderson. You did it with PLD. You did it with Laine. Every single you deny all reports simply because you don’t want them to be true. Everyone but their mother knows he is going to be traded.
Except for the part where I said Anderson was going to be traded for someone we could use at #2C and I was right (even if he didn't work out). And that PLD would only be traded for an equivalent star rather than picks and prospects and I was right. The only one of those I had a serious misread on was Laine, and it was with a brand new GM.

You've been assuming the existence of more substance than has previously been substantiated, both in terms of the likelihood of an outcome and the degree to which folks such as myself have contested same. It's the rhetorical equivalent of calling a guy who scored 36 goals in a season for your team once "a 40-goal scorer" and calling a guy on my team who's scored 29, 31, 28, and 34 goals "a 20-goal scorer at best".

Realistically Savoie is the only one they have to move, since they aren't moving O'Reilly. No reason to trade up to the 1st round just to move him.

Seravalli has something of a mixed record here, so I'd be hesitant to consider that one way or the other, really. I'm sure there's lots of very heavy interest and proposals that he thinks overwhelmingly interesting. I'm not convinced he knows whether or not Waddell would find them similarly interesting.

Oh yeah I know about Seravalli's clown reputation at times lol. I'm not a CBJ fan, I don't know enough about the situation to comment on it, I was just posting a tweet I saw and thought it would be interesting infos for this thread.

That's fair; I was mostly commenting on the tweet myself. :thumbu:

I'll say.. if a trade happens.. I think Columbus will regret it.

However.. I'm hoping for a trade. Obviously my oilers.

I would be happy if he went to Nick's as well to be with Hronek so it sucks it says not Nucks.

Other than that... Just a team that has room for him. While older.. broberg took off when he got to play. Hope for something like that.

My wildcard guess

To :hawks
D David Jiricek

To :cbj
D Ethan Del Mastro

Del Mastro was AHL all-star last year in professional debut (7 goals + 30 assists in 69 games) but is losing PP time to Levshunov/Korchinski this year so his stats have suffered

6'4 and 21 yrs old, Part of Canada's gold winning WJC team last year. Del Mastro is leftover Bowman prospect, so Davidson has no attachment to him

Hawks have good LD depth in organization right now and add another RD to pipeline that has Levshunov (AHL) and Rinzel (NCAA). Jiricek has to just cook a little in AHL until callup later in year and we go from there

Hawks then trade Murphy (With retention) at deadline and next year have Jones, Levshunov and Jiricek at RD spots for Hawks

That’s a very fair trade.
Olivier has quickly become a leader in the locker room and is producing.. He's not going anywhere after what happened this off-season. He's a glue guy in the locker room that desperately needs it.
