Hunt is mobile, crisp first pass, decent gaps, and will play physical. Injury prone if you track his junior/world junior and AHL career (blocked shots, playing physical).CBJ fan coming in peace. Good luck with Jiricek! His skating is wayyyy under NHL levels but he can be very good offensively with the right coaching. Check out his goal last night from the monsters game. Wrist shot upper 90 snipe from the blue line. Always liked Minnesota hoping for the best.
Quick rundown of Hunt?

He will light guys up at times but sometimes takes himself out of the play. He has a decent shot, too. I think hes a 5 or 6th dman with chance to be 4sh if everything aligns.
This is the disturbing part, for me. The NHL is a fast league now. Everyone can skate, unless you are exceptionally savvy and positionally sound. If he can't skate, or his defending is poor, then he won't be playing in our top 4. i would also argue, with Faber, Buium, and Chisholm around, that we don't need a dman that provides offense so much as one that can defend and be physical.CBJ fan coming in peace. So we keep Heidt and Ohgren???
Was their friction between him and the Jackets? Why are they moving him
I think you hit the nail on the head. I don't see him ever being even an average skater in today's NHL. He'll have to learn how to play around it. Similar to really small guys, you're never going to get bigger, you just have to learn how to be effective with what you have. This is the disturbing part, for me. The NHL is a fast league now. I'd be shocked if Andy Ness can't work some magic with him. While he may not be able to turn him into a "great" skater, I'd be willing to bet he can get him significantly better then he is now and likely very serviceable.I think you hit the nail on the head. He's young, who knows. Watch some clips. He's the most awkward skater you'll ever see. He'll be a useful player one way or another.I'd be shocked if Andy Ness can't work some magic with him. I get what you're saying and I'm not doubting it. But, the Ness's (Andy & his mom Diane) are supposed to be a couple of the best skating coaches in the game. I've no doubt the Wild will get Jiricek paired with them as soon as they can. He's young, who knows. Watch some clips. He's the most awkward skater you'll ever see. He can't be. Have you ever seen Trenin skate? It looks like he has an invisible horse between his legs. He's young, who knows. Watch some clips. He's the most awkward skater you'll ever see. He'll be a useful player one way or another.
I'll admit I don't get to watch the Wild too much, other than watching you smack us around twice already this year. That goalie you got is the real deal.He can't be. Have you ever seen Trenin skate? It looks like he has an invisible horse between his legs.

Actually surprised because there is a logjam up front...Ohgren/Haight/Bankier/Milne/Toporowski and then Heidt and Yurov and maybe Kumpulainen and Rieger Lorenz. So we keep Heidt and Ohgren???
Every team has access to great skating coaches. Ness is great, but if the player doesn't dig in, and just does the minimum, he won't improve - remember, all the other players are constantly working, also.I'd be shocked if Andy Ness can't work some magic with him.
