Will Darnell nurse play in Edmonton this year or will he get sent to the Ahl?
What is his value?
Would the oilers consider trading him? They have sekera, klefbom,Reinhart on the left side.

New Jersey needs a LD as that is our weakness. Just curious on his value

Reinhart is garbage.. you can have him for cheap. Nurse will play in the AHL and develop properly. I don't want Oilers rushing him like Smid.

Davidson(or Oesterle) will play in Nurses' place.

the cost will be very expensive...

being close to NHL ready and waived exempt, he's part of the "fix" in EDM, I dont think that they'd so an interest unless a MAJOR OVER-PAYMENT comes back in return

Can't see Nurse getting traded. He is the embodiment of what Chiarelli wants the Oilers to be. I expect if he's in the AHL it won't be for long.

He's a young defenseman that fits well with their rebuild and doesn't need protection for the draft. Why would the Oilers want to trade him?

You just have up the 16th oa and 33oa picks in one of the deepest drafts in a long time for Reinhart just a little over a year ago. Why would you ever give up on him now?

I can't believe within a year Chiarelli traded Taylor Hall, the 16th, and 33oa picks for Adam Larsson and Griffen Reinhart. If that proposal was made on HF I don't think it would have lasted 5 posts before it would have been closed.

He's like their 9th best defender, and they don't exactly have Anaheim depth.

Like 2 or 3 prospects passed him last year as well haha. That trade makes me smile.

I'd take a flier on him if he's available for like a 4th. From what I watched the skating is still a huge concern.

The Oilers aren't going to give Reinhart away.

He isn't as bad as his reputation but he will never be worth the price paid. It is what it is.

As for Nurse, maybe he's movable but Edmonton would be looking for a direct upgrade at the same position so that doesn't make a lot of sense either.

Genuinely curious. From my understanding Edmonton would probably rank their prospects like this; Nurse, Davidson, Osterle(?), Reinhart.

That about right?

Larsson
Klefbom
Sekera
Fayne
Davidson
Nurse
Reinhart
Oesterle

Something like that anyway. The big thing Reinhart has working against him is that 4 of the 6 guys ahead of him shoot left.

If you were asking about upside then bump Nurse up to third and move Davidson ahead of Fayne.

He probably will play in the NHL this year but on the 3rd pairing now, not on the 2nd and sometimes 1st pairing that he on last year due to multiple injuries on the blue line.

Don't think Chiarelli will trade him. His value isn't high enough to justify the return and Nurse is a Chiarelli player through and through along with Lucic, Maroon, Kassian, etc. his role is going to be that mean SOB on the back end that teams hate to play against, and Chiarelli loves that type of player.

Plus Nurse is filling out, kid is ripped looking at his summer training photos, he's going to be a monster soon enough (dad was a CFL linebacker).

Can't say Nurse will be moved anything short of an overpayment. He's ripe for what they need on the back end right now potential wise. A top end d-man, with control, that isn't much older would have to be coming back the other way for the Oilers to make any sense of a deal.

Didn't they already do that? He played 69 games last year.

Are you guys serious? Nurse isnt anything special at all. Will probably never turn into anything more than an average top 4 at best. Mcilrath like player. Could end up beeing a decent top 4 but will never be anything more than that and most likely a bottom pair guy. No reason to trade him atm because he is protected in the expansion draft etc but a top end d man in return? Cmon on.... Cant be serious?
Nurse is extremely average with some good qualities to his game.

So you've figured this out after a partial rookie season? Weren't you saying recently that
Skjei had top pairing potential?

It makes no sense for Edmonton to trade him. They now have the defensive depth to keep him in the minors where he can play out the kinks in his game and develop offensively. As a Sabres fan, I honestly think they're in great shape moving forward. The Hall trade was a necessary move to air out the locker room and change the dynamic of the team as a whole.

I think what the Oilers need at this point is less of the "I'll punch you in the face just because" kind of toughness, and more of the "I'll take the hit to make the play/I'll go into corner after the puck" type of toughness. A team wide commitment to that would go a lot further than a lot of extraneous minutes in the penalty box.

I would give up a mid round pick maybe. Nothing between the ears, physical beast but not good enough to be anything more than Luke Schenn 2.0

What an ignorant post. **** for brains right? He was the OHL Scholastic Player of the Year, he's a very bright kid.

Book smart and hockey sense (reading the ice well, seeing play develop) are not necessarily the same thing
