I must admit I was not very happy about Hossa also leaving, I was a super fan of his and next to Alfie leaving it was my saddest day as an Ottawa Senator fan.

No doubt that pizza line was crazy times and taking us to the Stanley cup was a special moment that we can never forget and heatly it was a big part of our dominant team back then.

It was not hard to be mad at him for wanting out. It didn't matter how crazy our owner was it left us in a bad spot. However as we got to know the owner more we understand why players were starting to leave.

Heatly will always be a big part of this franchise's history maybe not enough to go up into the rafters but he'll be in record books and in the memories of us old timers.

It's been so long it's nice to move on.

There are a few players that I certainly would like to see up in the rafters but our border line as well also. Maybe we can have a Walk of Fame or something...lol....

Maturing is slowly realizing non of Karlsson, Stone, Duchene, Turris, Spezza, Heatley, Alfredsson left because they didn't like Ottawa, it was because of the piece of shit who ran the show for so many years. Obviously some guys like Debrincat clearly didn't wanna be in Canada but that is again more on the GM than the player for acquiring him with that contract situation.

I mean, we did also have Hossa, who when he got 45 goals (lower scoring era than danys 50 goals) was 4th in goals in the league.

We've had someone fight for the Richard trophy before heatley and I'm sure we'll have someone do it after Heatley.
Hossa really was an absolute beast. Two way monster who was an elite goalscorer.

Got real rotten for sure.

Nice to see this organization not be dictated by one difficult man's grudges and penny pinching.
