Unfortunately there are no shortage of morons in this market's media. But Cox, Simmons, Feschuk are journo version of the axis of evil.
WHy .we have heard this same old song for 4 years
This team has a great home ice record yet is in jeopardy of losing it to Tampa
All because the same rhetoric about not showing up against inferior competition
Well guess what the coach has to motivate players too
This 4 headed core may need a new voice
Keefe is asking his bottom 6 to do as much as the 59 million dollars night they watch play 25 minutes of 60
Ya maybe a new voice wouldn't hurt

I still say that it isn't the team not showing up to bomb inferior competition during the regular season that's the problem. It's the team not showing up in many of its "big" games against rivals and benchmark opponents.

He watched that game and came away with that? LMFAO, Go home Grandpa.

That game only exposed what most fans are saying, they need another top 6 forward who can score goals with little support.

In all honesty, the Montreal series should have caused change within the organization. We are two years late reacting to the same issues really.
A definite possibility. Or maybe, the way played against TB last spring is a sign that something is finally starting to click? I guess we'll find out in a couple of months.

These issues plagued the Leafs long before Keefe ever became coach.

The Canucks were a mess defensively under Boudreau, same goes for Washington. The minute Boudreau was fired and the Caps got defensive structure under Trotz, they won.

Keefe a much better fit for this Leaf team.

I think Cox is on to something and it’s sickening to say. Though I wouldn’t advocate for a mid season change, I think they should move on from keefe at the end of this year. He just doesn’t have the group ready for games and I think they need a change of voice. They need a nicer babcock IMO, more old school coach that has a system.

I wouldn’t say Bruce but I think Rick Bowness was the guy who would have been perfect. Players coach but still a process orientated guy who is all about details and systems. Holds players accountable.
A young guy who was at the time working for the Hamilton Spectator doing whatever, editing, copy writing while still going to UofT getting his degree was able to wrangle an interview with a young star on the Toronto Toros

The young Toro wanted to be a Leaf so much he could taste it, the young reporter wanted to be a Dick Beddoes or a Scott Young(yes Neils dad), a guy who had his own byline and could write about sports, politics or stuff he liked.

They became life long friends and still are, the writer is still writing and the other guy still wants to be a Leaf.

Article starts off by advocating for Boudreau before shortly turning into the opinion of Keefe's replacement not necessarily having to be Boudreau!

Of all times, I don't see why Keefe would specifically be fired now. Raise the question of change(s) if the team misses the playoffs (N/A) or loses yet again in the first round.

I am happy to see fans come to Keefe's defense. The problem is that who can dispute Cox's opinion? Our MGMT team hasn't won anything. They've squandered how many playoffs series?

In no way am I saying Boudreau is the answer. Until they prove themselves I don't believe that Keefe and Company are the answer either.

Considering where we are in the standings and the franchise's best player is out, this is a pretty hot take by the Cox man.

These issues have plagued the Leafs since Pat Quinn was their coach. It frequently happened in the years where the Leafs were making deep runs into the playoffs.

You guys just keep beating that "more goals" drum huh?

Cox is still cranking out birdcage liner articles? All we need is for Howard Berger and Steve Simmons to throw in their worthless two cents.
