I know people rag on PLD for valid reasons but I think he makes some good offensive plays when there is sustained pressure in the O zone. The tricky part is that his line rarely gets sustained O zone time… maybe too early but I think that second line needs to be rejigged. Wheeler literally does nothing for that line while perfetti is still too young to drive plays…

The d Corps is also very lacking… I’m hoping maybe the new young guns can surprise us in that dept but was sad that Chevy didn’t do much in that area during the off season…

Honestly, 5-4 were worse than Stanley aside from the penalties

Yeah they were pretty bad. Pionk's breakouts have been poor for a supposed puck moving dmen.
Remember last season when Perfetti was QBing the PP from out on the left hashmarks and looking like a difference maker? Let's try that again.

Yup, also bring in his wingman in Heinola and watch them carve PK's up.

It's almost as if they are overcompensating this year. Ehlers didn't get the shot he deserved so he's on the first line with Mark and Conner. We also have to put all our eggs I one basket on the first PP. Play the top 6 evenly and create lines that have the most balance.

As I said in the game day thread the second line needs a speedy play driver.

Please Understand
We were right there with them.

Then Lowry takes a hooking penalty at center ice and they get the momentum.

Then 2 stupid penalties by Dubois and Stanley and that was it.

Just dumb.

Momentum had swung by the 10 minute mark of the first period. The Jets weren't generating any offense, and they were having transition problems yet again. To hang this on the two penalties is washing over just how poorly the team played as a whole.

So who gets their minutes cut?
Hahaha, we don’t have enough quality offensive depth to cut minutes to begin with.

… we had 15 shots on net through 50 minutes. How were we right with them?

They need to desognate a whole week of practice to nothing but breakouts. We once again had all sorts of challenges navigating a well structured 1-2-2 nz.

He was fine with Sbisa and really good with Forbort. Last season I think he was bad with everyone except Morrissey (not sure why we're not trying that pairing again, but I'm guessing the reason is that you can, in fact, teach 6'0).

Likely trying to spread out the puck movers and offense but he's not really moving the puck well.

In all honesty I think he might be the odd man out. Schmidt atleast plays well with Dillion or JoMo or even Heinola. He kust struggles either Logan.

He did screen helly tho on one goal and took a penalty to make it 4 1. So stats are great but, they don't tell you the whole story.
From 10 ft away. Lol . we blaming him for picking up his man and helle looking the wrong way now.
