Bit more energy at the end there but not good enough overall
On to the next one!

So who gets their minutes cut?

Enough people are gonna drag Stanley so I am not gonna pile on him.
PLD could have gone into that game with two eggs in each of his pockets and at the end of the game all the eggs would have been intact.
0 hits, -2, 2 Shots (both on the PP) in ~18.5 mins of icetime
Even Connor/Scheifele/Ehlers who are smaller guys who don't have hits as part of their game registered 2 hits each. He atleast has to show some physicality and passion if nothing else is going for him. He can't be playing like a less physical version of Lowry at 5v5.
A 6 game stretch against the Rangers, Stars, Avs, Golden Knights, Leafs and Blues looks pretty damn difficult.1st road game of the year in a hot weather city without your coach...saw the L coming. The telling sign will be how we bounce back in Colorado. Then a back to back in Vegas. We knew the schedule could get ugly, but just need to see the bounce back effort.

Those darn 20C days are killing us...1st road game of the year in a hot weather city without your coach...saw the L coming. The telling sign will be how we bounce back in Colorado. Then a back to back in Vegas. We knew the schedule could get ugly, but just need to see the bounce back effort.
Remember last season when Perfetti was QBing the PP from out on the left hashmarks and looking like a difference maker? Let's try that again.Well that was a game that showed we still have a long way to go. We showed signs of good play but also came undone at times.
They need to figure our breakouts out. Just terrible and kill any chance we have to attack with speed.
Our PP setup is also off imo. We have too many shooters on the first unit and they are too pass happy imo. Not sure if anyone really has a set job.
The second PP unit isn't going to score many goals with Sam Gagner and Blake Wheeler as your designated shooters. Perfetti has the best shot of the three and he's sitting there below the goallibe or screening the net. Not sure what the heck the coaches are thinking with that set up.
Simply put I think our top 6 as constructed lacks balance. There is not enough speed or finish on line 2. There is too much creativity and finish on line one that it often leads to that line not accomplishing enough.
It's painfully obvious that it's a speed and puck movement game now and we need speed and puck movement on the back end.
